I’d need a lot more personally, plus plenty of places to brace my hips against.i suppose a customer can specify what they personally need, Just like Island Packet do with their Comprehensive basic options construction list most of which are available at no extra cost. I am disabled and have some pretty serious changes needed to accommodate my needs. That’s why Island Packet turn out to be far cheaper for me to have a New Sailboat, rather than the massive customisation costs I need to add to most second hand Sailboats.Luckily there are a few that I can get modified with low cost extras well enough for me to be comfortable and safe, with easy boat handling. They do have to be a bit larger sailboats than I would really like though, which increases annual costs. Ho Hum. Best Wishes.Bob.👍🌟🌟🌟🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇬🇧⛵️

Now that’s a proper boaty boat…….. function first, although not short on looks. Lovely proportions and my own particular liking for a modest air draft……. or visual trickery to suggest it. Within the confines of the number of berths, it needs nothing more……. The lazarette was Tardis like…….. The D13’s appeal to the child in me, but I would probably spec smaller, purely on the grounds of space and weight, without sacrificing much speed As for the Cockwells touch - taking a well loved and respected brand and turning it up to 11. Yes I would, in a breath 🙂🇬🇧

Setting your shutter speed to roughly double your frame rate. For instance, if you're filming at 25 FPS, you should use a shutter speed of 1/50. This will help to synchronise the shutter speed with the light's frequency.Not sure if you can adjust it but just a suggestion:)

Very different design! Dunno about the bulwarks. I guess take a wave and out through the scuppers. Wish they could find a way to lessen the lazarette and increase the engine room. But that being said nice "Little Ship"!!! Thanks Nick

I realize it's not all fancy like your Princess boats, but she is a lot of boat for £1.7 million new. And this is the kind of boat I'm in the market for. Well, if I had $2.3 million this one would be at the top of a very short list. I really, really like the seperate shower room. Do you think this is comparable to the Eling E4 or E6, as far as seakeeping goes? I'm pretty certain this will not self right like an Eling but, try to find an Eling for sale, especially with two engines as they have to be special ordered if you want two.

That's quite the impressive vessel! A couple things struck me: it seems rare to see the full set of helm controls replicated at both stations. Often there's one display less, and sometimes other differences. Not here! I was surprised, given the ocean-going intent, at the lack of grab rails in the salon (unless they're hidden in the lighting rails or something). And also surprised by how tight the engine room is. It seems like access to the oil filters on the port engine might be tough. But otherwise, it's excellent!

@@AQUAHOLIC I get that Nick. But why? How desperate do you have to be, to want to be in rough seas, just to get somewhere? I thought this sort of boating was supposed to be enjoyable and relaxing. I’m not hating this little boat. I think it’s absolutely brilliant. Batten down the hatches and those pirates won’t be able to get to you, no matter how hard they try. Turn into bad weather and wash those little devils off the decks. 😎
@AQUAHOLIC
@AQUAHOLIC 3 месяца назад
@@Steve-Cross Define 'rough'. It's rarely smooth out there, and the point of a boat like this is to give you increased ability to manage that, and allow you to sail in weather that you might choose not to in a lesser boat, not to go on some kind of masochistic endurance test. Not everyone wants that, and I made it clear in the video that it's not a boat for everyone. But clearly there is a market for more capable and more serious cruising boats.

Hi Nick. Confession : I have a massive Soft Spot for the Hardy Boats. My Father owned a much smaller Hardy, and we had years of great times going out on it. Several times, the weather turned absolutely filthy and rough on us, so muggins me was put on the wheel, while dad concentrated on worrying for both of us and anyone else on board. Needless to say his Hardy just took everything in its stride, and there was no problem getting back into sheltered water and the mooring, before we disappeared into the Pub for a meal and some beer. Great boats, and thanks for the look around. Only things lacking for me, are a Mast and Sails (I’m a dyed in the wool Bermuda Sloop guy ) and propane gas cooking with an induction hob backup. Propane gas cooking frankly takes a heck of a lot of beating to be honest. Best Wishes, and thanks again. Bob. PS the next Sailboat is finally on the horizon. 👍🌟🌟🌟⛵️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇬🇧❤️

Propane is also a hazard on a boat, which is, why many tends to avoid it today. Fires started in the galley is actually the most common full write off cause of live aboard boats. I also prefer sails, but I would consider Alubat Ovni, Allures and Garcia, when talking monohuls, and Neel, when talking multihuls. Garcia has also made a crazy nice catamaran in aluminium, but it is also crazy expensive.
@brownnoise357
@brownnoise357 3 месяца назад
@@1corinthians15.1-4kjv I’ve lived with superb Gas cooking benefits for over fifty years, and tbh, the only things I have burned, have been cheese on toast tragedies. To me, it’s the quality of the cooking with Propane that simply can’t be matched and is only exceeded by charcoal fuelled BBQ’s - which comes close to being matched by Propane BBQ with a Smoker Box. Solid Fuel Rayburn and Aga Cookers are fairly decent for cooking with, but you don’t have the moist heat or instant heat control that you have with Pripane. Side note - Town Gas was really good too tbh. Service and maintain cookers, hoses and Gas Bottles properly, and Propane really isn’t a problem tbh. If you aren’t competent enough to pay attention to shat you are doing ? Rely on a Fire Blanket and Extinguisher in reach perhaps ? You will always get an idiot who goes looking for a Gas Leak with a Lit Candle I suppose ? Darwin moments are supposed to have an overall benefit for our Species intelligence after all. 🤔🌟🌟🌟👍

I do have a massive soft spot for a Hardy and love this with a couple of question marks. Firstly I can't see a way of getting a bimini to work on the flybridge and secondly that engine room access is horrible, trying to fix anything under way would be so difficult. Apart from those things it's spot on. Fab tour as usual Nick, thanks.

She is a rugged off shore lady, she'll push her way through most sea conditions. Kichen is very practical ( like the pantry) but stylish. The helm is physically very well set out, everything to hand. Cockwell build the Hardy software for the helm with lots of options. Good visibility though the forward windows. Cabins for guest ok not sure about their day head more a wet room. Id prefer separate shower. But not enough space..😮 External areas spacious, love the Fly bridge she an owner run type of boat. Love the little ships vibes I'm getting.

Hi Nick, great boat, great tour. I am always disappointed by wet heads on expensive boats. I had a 40 footer years ago with one wet hear and one head with a proper shower stall. I always had guests use the shower stall in my ensuite rather than the wet head, and everyone always did. It is so much nicer. I am sure that is common practice for other owners as well. Might be nice to point that out to non boat owning fans who imagine being the second person into the wet head after someone has taken a shower and ending up dropping your pants into a puddle when using the toilet. PS - you’d look good owning that Hardy boat. Doesn’t anyone offer you a free one? Would be nice hey?

What a nice ship! I'm really a fan of this type of boats. As you say yourself: "Serious ships with a certain high standard of comfort. Well done, Nick!

I prefer teak as opposed to darker wood often used these days, a decent layout as it were. Engine access is a bit quirky but that’s the only thing that I would say is not so good, maybe the layout can be changed like the cabins. Plenty of potential as it were.

Really like the Hardy boats and the work of Cockwells, having a boat that can go anywhere in (broadly) anything is worth the compromise on internal volume. Thanks Nick for another great tour and look forward to the next one 😀

Nick you are a machine. You give me a yacht to view everyday. Thank you for all your efforts. I like the proper functional yachts. I just realized why I don't care for the transformer yachts! I'm a go and do things kinda person, not sit, lounge and hob knob. Well I will lounge but it's not my go to. Therefore my vessel has to be capable and ready to go when I want to go. Transformer yachts need to wait for weather windows. I was having a discussion with a friend about Bahamas crossings and how I've never crossed in less than a 2-4ft seaway because I don't wait for perfect weather. It's also the reason I "cruise" a sportfish convertible instead of a fancy condo boat. Haha

What a great yacht, arguably the perfect blend between modern/traditional... shame my student loan won't cover it! Big congrats on 500K, you definitely deserve it and looking forward to the summer boating videos!

We all fantasize about 100m+ super yachts with 30+ crew, but honestly if I could ever afford one of these, add a SCUBA compressor in the lazarette and just disappear to never be seen again - that would be the dream!
