Very brave Alex.. A Scottish car dealer once told me you can find genuine cars all over the country if you look hard enough, as long as you don’t look in Luton, Birmingham, Leicestershire and Bradford. Apparently in these areas the words - genuine, reliable, honest don’t even exist in their vocabulary?🤷‍♂️. Who knows. Great channel keep up the good work.💪

I had a 2004 1.4L Renault Clio destined for the scrap heap. Got a new job and a company car. Decided instead of scrapping it I would kill it at the Nurburgring. Drove all the way there with a mate in a separate vehicle so I would have a lift back. Never needed it. Lasted every single lap and the Autobahn. Great fun. Would love to do it again

The limp mode is likely to be the pilot plug on the gearbox leaking onto the electrical pins. Had it on my c class coupe. Turning off and restarting used to stop it for a bit but gradually gets worse. Just unclip the electrical connector (just a yellow ring that you turn) quick squirt of electrical cleaner on the pins inside, let it dry and put it back on. Probably will happen again in time unless you replace the seal but depending on how bad the leak is could last months. Hope it helps.

Reminds me of my Opel astra, fan stopped working and I wired it from lighter wires, limb mode would come and go, also burned tons of oil. Good ol German quality. Sold it for 500€ to a mechanic and it was scrapped few months later.

I had an e class from a similar era that occasionally went into limp mode. Just changing the throttle positioning sensor fixed it for the rest of my ownership. The fact that it happens specifically when you kick down also supports this.

I did the switch thing with my shitey little Punto about 10 years ago. It worked an absolute treat, until I got the ferry from Belfast to Stranraer. I went top deck for a pint and some food and for some reason, one of my 2 dogs or the cat decided to turn to thing on. When we docked, the battery was stone dead. I've never heard so many horns at the same time in my life. I was not popular 😂

I kid you not. Back in the early nineties I bought a Fiat 131 off a teacher for £50, and that had a light switch under the bonnet to supply 12 bolts to the HT coil. It’s Italian, so makes sense. And being a carburettor and mechanical pump engine, when you pulled up to park, you had to lift the bonnet and flick the switch off to stop the engine. I was pi**ing myself when I saw Taylor unscrewing that light switch.🤣😂🤣. But bolting it to the outside of the bonnet finished me off!🤣😂🤣😂. Such great entertainment as always. Keep it up.

It's the throttle position sensor that's causing the limo mode it's the most common issue on that era, have the same issue on my clk320 it's a cheap part and takes less than 5 minutes to replace, just two bolts
