I have to say, this channel is easily one of my fav cars channel on youtube. I was skeptical on how alex would do on a separate channel but boy has he delivered and even surpassed other channels in my list.

Alex! Do hope you read this. These early X300 XJRs are absolutely superb and a personal dream car. I’d like to point out that the specification of this car is NOT common. The interior came as standard with a black / dark grey upper contrast on the door cards, dash & centre console. As far as I’m aware, not many were optioned as yours is. Additionally, the ‘XJR Supercharged’ text on the veneer was DEFINITELY not standard and an extra I’ve never seen. Safe to say this car is special, increasingly with the HK sound & the wood / leather wheel. Please do take care of it (as I’m sure you will) there are virtually none of these early S/C 6 cars left. Love your work, been watching your work here & at CT for the best part of 8 years, Thanks!

Loving all the 'cheap' car videos at the moment, they were my favourite top gear bits, and my favourite car throttle videos, keep it up!

Loving the channel Alex and Taylor. My Dad used to have a XJR6 in navy with cream leather. Wasnt the biggest fan at first but my option changed when he took me on our first road trip from the Scottish Borders to the Glen's of Antrim. Travelling in absolute comfort, whisking the miles away but best of all, the old man flicking the switch to sports mode and over taking everything in its path. Thirsty old brut but definitely worth the smiles per gallon. Seeing the bonnet lift up when accelerating, hearing the whine of that supercharger and me grinning at every car we over took. I wished my dad kept it but unfortunate circumstances he had to let it go. Hope yous have as much fun as I have great memories of the XJR6. Real villains cars but that's why I love it!

Every morning I get a spare 20 minuets before I take my girls to school to watch Auto Alex , followed you over from CT , and it’s very quickly becoming the go to for my morning routine 😂 Keep it up guys , love the chemistry between you all , and the cars ! XJ are personal favourites of mine! ❤

The XJ has got to be one of my favourite cars you have had on your channel so far. Im a big fan of that particular generation of jag. My grandad has owned the 3.2 v6 xj executive since brand new in 1997. I hope to own the car myself one day as i can just spend loads of time staring at it every time i visit. The best car you've ever bought! Once you understand Jag life, there is no substitute! Thermostat problems on the XJ are fairly common so that'd be the first thing I'd check if the temp is in the red. I'm amazed the exhaust hasn't rotten, but even so a stainless unit with a resonator delete should make some mean noises with a smaller pulley! I'm guessing someone has put waxoyl on it at some point underneath because they rot around the sills, wheel arches and under the boot lining so keep an eye on those spots.

This was definitely someone's pride and joy. The personalised plate is a nice touch 👌🏻 please look after it 😀

Hi Alex great show! I've been the proud owner of one of the non-supercharged versions for about 16 years now, it's interesting they appeared to have bottomed out and are on the rise as the X300 was only available for 3 or so years and is proving exceptionally reliable. When it comes to heat, it was a coolant sensor on mine about a $30 AUD part so nothing really, it has a different sensor for the gauge, which is nearly adjacent to it and also cheap to change. We swapped my radiator for a double fan one and the car runs cold most of the time now with no dramas at all. If you are keen to tune it there are verified stories of over 570 bhp and 700 nm coming out the engine, there is also a cheap easy very quick upgrade originally designed by the man who helped create the motor which really helps the car come alive. In Australia the rust issue is non-existent so the only issue we have is the fact that Jaguar clearly saved money on the wiring, its not insulated anywhere near as well as it should be, I've slowly started replacing it and the car feels better than it ever did. I went to a car auction with my two young sons. People were bidding on a car that came through the doors. My son asked me where the loos were so I pointed at the bogs and put a £2500 bid on a Citroen picasso. I promptly waved like mad at the auctioneer who then stopped the auction and put the bid back to the previous winner. Close call! 🙈 We were only after a small £100 car to use around a field! 😂

Great buy. I´ve had one as a daily driver for 5 years now. With propper maintainance and care it´s been super reliable and endless joy to drive. Btw. Few minor and simple upgrades to get some more fun out of it. Andy bracket for the crank sensor. Larger volume coolant pump for the intercooler, and larger supercharger belt pulley on the crankshaft.

One minute in and they've already bought another BMW!😂

Awesome video! I've bought 3 auction vehicles and they were all great. Well one was a shit box but fixable. The first was the best. 200k miles on it, but like your Jag, zero rust, brand new Michelin tires all round, fantastic interior, paid $2800 plus fees. Did wiring, fab, and decals to make it a Ghostbusters car and it helped me raise thousands for charity.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with this. My father had 3 of them in the same colour

Alex, I really enjoyed how you fell under the spell that the XJR6 has on certain people like me, even down the the thing I always say: LOOOK AT THE BIG RED LETTERS XJR6 SUPERCHARGED ON THE ENGINE. I'm now on my 8th XJR6 and maintain the statement these are a very special Jaguar. There is more to the story though, the holy grail, the XJR6 with a manual gearbox. I have one of these myself now and it's a completely different animal. I know Drivetribe are already doing a manual swap on the XKR which is amazing, but I urge you to consider converting your car to manual. It's clearly a solid and well looked-after example so would be a good candidate for changing the drivetrain. I have a feeling your would absolutely love the thug of a car the X306 becomes when the slushbox auto is removed in favour of the racing GT tractor Getrag 290 manual with it's industrial grade gearchange and clutch!
