Hope you're all well everybody, sorry I've been a bit quite it's been extremely busy recently! 10 points for the first comment on how to pronounce louboutins ;) Also once again ... let me know who would be interested in a second Vlog style channel!
Why does Louboutin not put red rubber soles on their shoes from the start? Are they really saving that much by just putting on some paint that will wear off and leave the customer dissatisfied?
Hi Dan, it was great to see my wife's collection ( and mine ) being restored so beautifully, you should of heard her scream when you started with the belt sander, it was funny, i cant wait to see them on Saturday, to all the viewer's out there, this guy is so good, i drove nearly 2 hours to get them done, and it was purely because of his professional videos, Dan thankyou, they look so good
My pleasure LLoyd and thanks for the kind comment! I think you knew I didn’t plan on a video but I couldn’t resist once I started getting all the red soles out!
@@Dan_the_cobbler i couldn't believe you did that video, its so cool, Claire couldn't watch she was literally crying :) until the end and then she smiled, she said you can do the rest of her collection :) literally the quality of your videos and how it shows your true craftsman ship is why we came, you really are a different level of cobbler !! i am addicted you to your videos :)
Wow, I've only watched a couple of Dan's videos (RU-vid has figured out I like fixing things) but his honesty about burnout and the straightforward way he talked about it was not something I was expecting. Respect for Dan.
It fascinates me how many aspects of this job parallel so many other jobs on a different scale. These skill can also be applied to auto body work, woodworking, carpet installation and so many other things. As a do-it-yourselfer, I appreciate your attention to detail and great work. Continued success from Pennsylvania, USA!
Coming from a tradesman in a totally different industry, the craftmanship/skill and care you take in your profession is truly inspiring. Almost makes me want to shift careers and learn another trade at 41yo. A new subscriber here mate.
We have a Timpsons in my town. Whenever I walk past (which is quite often) I’ve only ever seen the guy with his feet up playing on his phone! I guess quality and attention to detail brings the work in Dan 👍
I have a local Timpson. I took one of my pair of louboutins to be repaired. He did an ok job, but not good enough to fool the _real_ Louboutin cobblers. “We didn’t fix these” was the spoiler. That’s why I’ve sent my loub boots to be attend to by Dan.
Avoiding burnout is a big deal these days, I had a bad one in 2015 and again in 2021. Also its so good to hear you're busy with lots of work and customers. Things are pretty bad here in Canada, and things like cobblers, restaurants, specialty shops, etc etc (small business's in general) are closing at an alarming rate. Continued success Dan, and all the best from Canada.
This hit me hard. In canada, we are watching our country go towards failed state status. I’m really worried, because things seem like they’re going to get much worse before they get better.
@@bentolinmaddox9806 True all the old baby boomers are dying off and all of us younger generations have chosen not to take up these trades. I just bought a walking foot industrial sewing machine from an older lady that was moving into assisted living. Gonna keep it around for my own use. Your right though Canada is going to shit.
DAN! i have been so stressed with work lately, havent been able to catch your videos, i just realized how much they help me relax and wind down. I am not a cobbler, nor do i have any of those tools, but watching these vids really helps clear my cache. I appreciate your hard work man! thank u
Looking forward to the 200k special 🤗 I’m so happy for you Dan. It’s been so nice to see you go from a couple thousand subs to this. You’re a super nice guy with great skills and work ethic. It’s awesome when good people get recognition. 👏👏👏👌
your work is amazing. never watched this line of work being excuted and as a lover of various professions, yours is so entertaning. amazing job and care, hope great success on your future.
idk why this was in my recommendations but i'm glad it was, i enjoyed it! you should get into contact with Tom Scott's team, he loves trying new things and on his Plus channel he learns a new skill per video - i think cobbling/restoration would be a great match for him and his format, and you come across well on camera! his channel lead me to florian gadsby, james hoffman, beardyman, and so many other interesting creators. i think he'd be a huge boost of exposure for you too! 💕
Love seeing people who went and got a trade and became the best at what they do and recognised the value of honest work. Could watch this all day long rather than crypto BS
I love watching you repair shoes, it's a shame you get bad Comments but like you say if no one likes it don't watch them and keep your comments to your self. This man his the real deal and we love to watch him doing what he does best 👍👏❤
priorities straight! great video, yes it does seem like you have a chilled life, it's good you also describe what its really like to have a business and and youtube channel on top it's a lot. keep doing what you love. so nice to see good quality workmanship
Was telling my mum about this video today as she has a pair herself. My brother who was also visiting, overheard and said ‘is that the guy in Tring?’ How random that we both follow such a random channel. Something about your videos that I find strangely satisfying. Keep em coming.
Because the price pays for the brand and its signature red paint. Louboutin just got the idea from seeing an assistant's red nail polish. He now sells that red nail polish for $50 a tiny bottle. I love Dan and his work, but heck, if anyone wanted an authentic repair, just buy a bottle of the nail polish and paint the sole yourself.
@@sporksoffury didnt know about that, thank you for sharing, nonethless, could have evolved from that keeping the trademark with a more long lasting solution but I believe I see your point, buying the broken feature on the shoes is part of the brand glamour.... I can imagine though ladies on going to the beauty parlour saying "I am here to do my nails and my shoes :)"
Dan, you need to have custom tailored shirts. Those don't fit you 😅. Christian Louboutin shoes are made to walk on "red-carpet", not any other surfaces, aren't they? Dan's hands made them new again. Great job!
Some very fancy shoe's I only have a couple of pairs, the other half thinks its a waste getting more. I dont put any wear on the soles at all, riding around in my wheelchair. GREAT video 2x👍
it might be more than just "a primer". I am sure it will be a trade secret but it is possibly something like a titanium tetraisopropanolate surface activator to actually change the surface energy of the plastic.
Hello, 'NEW FRIEND' it all makes sense 'NOW'. I am half English and I too 'go off on tangents'. Yet manage to get my way through the day of 'AGED CARE'.... You are a cool dude... x from Australia
From Maryland an those biscuits are everything! I was gifted some... Dint share not one! Great episode!!! That's how the nick name for a lady's legs became "stems" an I nice pair of heel "pins"... Cuz a good cobbler knew how to make a great pair of legs look better in a well made pair of pins... I'm old... Lol! Anyhoo.. take care Dan your doing great things!! ✌🏼💗😊❣️
You would think LV would invest in their paint for shoes. But I think that's good for you $$$$ 😉 I like the view from the shop through the windows. It looked is like a little neat village to live in. My dream to live in a village that looks like it's from a storybook 😃
