Áirc Damhsa - Leitrim House Dance 

The Leitrim House dance was specially choreographed piece by Edwina Guckian for the dancers at Áirc Damhsa. All dancrs in this performance attend her Dance Club in Sligo, Leitrim and Roscommon on a weekly basis.
The dance is based on stories Edwina has heard from the older Leitrim generation about house dancers years ago. The local community would gather together when the hay had been saved and they would celebrate with music, song, and dance. The strawboys would sometimes visit, there would be brush dancing, story telling and the half door would be taken down and danced on.
