Please my brother, don't forget to talk about the history of " ìjèbú-ìjèşà " osun state just for the conclusion, because the history it's incomplete with " ìjèbú-omo-Elègbóró "......thanks & well done job.
Sooner than Latter Yorubas Descendants would LEARNED The History of their Ancestry Not from Arabic Koran/Qur'an; Not from Christian Bible - But from "Itan Aroba Yorubas". T/F???
Lots of distortion. Awujale is the son of Obanta. Obanta has a brother called Atakoro wo 'nu ado. Obanta had a dog (spiritual mascot), so Obanta is Alaja (owner of dog). Atakoro-wonu-ado had a cat(ese) as spiritual mascot, so he's known as Elese. Divination had it that wherever these spiritual mascots die or disappear would be the place for the princes Obanta(Alaja) and Atakorowonuado(Elese); to settle. Obanta gave a command that when his son Awujale is to be crowned as king after him, Awujale must not take the local crown of the Ijebu Ode, but must go to his uncle Elese to receive the original royal crown from Ile-Ife. Hence up until the coronation of Oba Sikiru Adetona, all Awujales go to Ilese for the coronation rites. Oba Adenle the Elese of Ilese performed the coronation rites on Oba Adetona in 1960. The rites include the Elese placing his foot on the head of Awujale and declaring that 'ategbo atela, adiye ki i te omo e pa' meaning the hen never crushes her chicks with her foo, but unto long life. There is documented evidence in pictures of this event. No doubt Awujale is king of kings in Ijebuland, but has an uncle in Elese. The colonial masters changed a lot of things for their administrative convenience. You can do a better research for more facts rather than 'pseudo-history'
Bt u said in history of bini and ife that oduduwa had only one son which is okanbi where did u get sixteen children now ur story is not straightforward
Pls don't trust what this man is saying ,it's always bring fake story and he always against OONI of IFE because of ALAFIN and he always turn Yoruba history upside down to favour OYO and his God father which is ALAFIN
Feyishitan Babajide pls I don’t say this man is saying truth but I know some truth out of this story.about obanta and so many things he has said.i heard it from my grandfather.probably this Man is saying truth about ijebu land.thats all I know
When people want to say rubbish about my own ancestor, I keep quiet and let them say whatever they want to say. For your information sir, I am a direct descendant of Obanta, this is my history.
It’s one of the flaws of Oral Traditions; if not incomplete, addition could have happened! We appreciate the effort most of all to pass knowledge to the next generation.
Now, they are confusing themselves because of politics. they don't want to follow the real history. Benin Empire has the facts of Oduduwa. How are you going to say Oduduwa came from Mecca? Don't forget the Benins traced Oduduwa to Ife with their ancient, African GPS, and asked him to come back home, due to age, he refused and ask his blessed son Oramiyan to go with them.(Oramiyan didn't go to Benin on his own ; he was asked to come back home). There is no place in Edo Land they accept a foreigner to be on a throne, if he/she is not a having a blood connection to the land. people have been using GPS right from the days of immemorial, it was used in the bible when Jesus Christ has given birth to; they used it traced His place of birth. Also, it was used by the Benins to trace Oduduwa where abouts, when there was chaos in Benin and the gods told them to go in search of their exiled Prince and the gods told them the Prince is alive.
Mumu stupid history Benin should be ashamed of their fake story ever since the creation of Benin they were always back ward no wonder that they just want to link their story with Yoruba so that they will be recorgnise
