Ege Denizi kıyısında küçük bir Türk kıyı yerleşimi ve tatil beldesidir . Turistler arasındaki popülaritesinin bir sonucu olarak yaz aylarında [a] yaklaşık 100.000'e çıkabilen yaklaşık 15.000 kişilik kalıcı bir nüfusa sahiptir .
Yakındaki tatil beldesi Kuşadası'nın yaklaşık 40 kilometre (25 mil) kuzeybatısında , ilçe merkezi olan Menderes'in 45 kilometre (28 mil) güneyinde ve il merkezi olan İzmir'in 65 kilometre (40 mil) güneyinde yer almaktadır. Birçok tarihi esere yakın konumda bulunan beldeye Kuşadası - Selçuk - Seferihisar - Urla il yolu üzerinden ulaşım sağlanmaktadır.
Bölge, bir zamanlar kasabanın taşıdığı birçok tarihi isme de yansıyan, bölgenin Türk yönetiminden çok önce yerleşilmiş ve ekilmiştir. Osmanlı döneminde kasaba Kesri olarak biliniyordu . 1960'lı yıllara gelindiğinde nüfus ve yoğunluk bakımından önemli bir artış yaşayan köy, genellikle şimdiki adı olan Özdere ile anılmaya başlanmıştır. 3 Haziran 1979'da Menderes ilçesinde bu isimle belediye kurulmuş , ilçenin resmi sınırları çizilmiştir. Şu anda belediyenin 2008'de dağılmasının bir sonucu olarak tüzel kişiliğe sahip değildir.
Ilıman bir iklime ve elverişli bir konuma sahip olan kasaba, ekonomisinin öncelikli ve kararlı bir şekilde odaklandığı yerel bir turizm merkezidir .Gelenekler ve kültür, yerel işletme sahiplerinin davranışları, sakinlerin kıyafetleri ve mutfağı etrafında döner . Bölgede birkaç eczane ve doktorun görev yapmasına rağmen, 2015 itibariyle kasabanın artık bağımsız bir belediye sağlık dairesi ve bu tür işler ilçe tarafından yürütülür ve yönetilir. Çok sayıda okul kasaba ve çevresinde veya yakınında bulunmaktadır.
İlçeye ulaşım kolaylığı, il tarafından ve İzmir merkezden Özdere ve plajlarına çok sayıda servis otobüsü ve taksi dolmuş idaresini mümkün kılmaktadır. Dolmuş ve tur otobüsleri de İzmir otogarından ve Kuşadası ve Seferihisar gibi diğer yakın ilçelerden hareket etmektedir. Araç kiralama ve taksilerin kullanıldığı İzmir Adnan Menderes Uluslararası Havalimanı'ndan ilçe merkezine, semtlerine ve yakın çevrelere ulaşım sağlanmaktadır . Feribot ve yat hizmetleri, şehir içinde ve yakınındaki birçok limanda bulunabilir.
It is a small Turkish coastal settlement and holiday resort on the Aegean Sea coast. It has a permanent population of about 15,000, which can increase to [a] 100,000 during the summer months as a result of its popularity with tourists.
It is located approximately 40 kilometers (25 mi) northwest of the nearby resort town of Kuşadası, 45 kilometers (28 mi) south of the county seat of Menderes, and 65 kilometers (40 mi) south of the provincial center of İzmir. Transportation to the town, which is close to many historical monuments, is provided via the Kuşadası - Selçuk - Seferihisar - Urla provincial road.
The region was settled and cultivated long before the Turkish rule of the region, which is reflected in the many historical names the town once bore. During the Ottoman period, the town was known as Kesri. The village, which experienced a significant increase in population and density in the 1960s, began to be known by its current name, Özdere. On June 3, 1979, a municipality with this name was established in the district of Menderes, and the official borders of the district were drawn. It currently does not have legal personality as a result of the municipality's dissolution in 2008.
Enjoying a temperate climate and a favorable location, the town is a local tourist destination where its economy is primarily and decisively focused. Traditions and culture revolve around the behavior of local business owners, the clothes and cuisine of the residents. As of 2015, the town now has an independent municipal health department, and such business is run and managed by the borough, although a few pharmacies and doctors operate in the area. Numerous schools are located in or near the town and its environs.
The ease of transportation to the district makes it possible to manage many shuttle buses and taxis from the province side and from the center of İzmir to Özdere and its beaches. Dolmus and tour buses also depart from İzmir bus station and other nearby districts such as Kuşadası and Seferihisar. From Izmir Adnan Menderes International Airport, where car rental and taxis are used, transportation is provided to the district center, its districts and the surrounding areas. Ferry and yacht services can be found at many ports in and near the city.
