Thought provoking video....... Lots of interesting strikes, scenarios... not sure about closed fist strikes to the front of face? I particularly ike the peripheral strikes, throws/weapons defences. Somehow angry music and Aikido dont seem appropriate, am I being a prude? If the strikes are there is it correct to call it Aikido? Wouldn't it become like its parent art? Aikijitsu/Jujitsu again?? regards Graeme
I love to see Aikido mixed with striking.....great potential there. I was in traditional Aikido when younger.....instructor always got pissed off when I started mixing in strikes-
This is badass. It reminds me of A.K.A, "Steven Seagal Sensei" style of Aikido called "TENSHIN AIKIDO" It is not officially a separate style of Aikido. It is just his unique approach to Aikikai Aikido taught within his dojos bearing the name "TENSHIN" of course. Bushido Tenshin Dojo is an intense Martial Art for intense situations. Attacks are fast and powerful, technique is quick and fierce.
its called ....Aikido (Japanese: 合気道 Hepburn: Aikidō?) Aikido is often translated as "the Way of unifying (with) life energy" or as "the Way of harmonious spirit." Ueshiba's goal was to create an art that practitioners could use to defend themselves while also protecting their attacker from injury. Aikido is performed by blending with the motion of the attacker and redirecting the force of the attack rather than opposing it head-on. try wikipedia once in a while :P
