When does the driving test come with spoken comments? What do you think of e.g. road holding, suspension in various modes, on 18” or 19” rims, sound insulation, reaction of dsg in various modes, performance, consumption, .......and if possible in comparison with Golf 8 GTI? Thanks in advance, Luc

Exactly!does it drive really sport style in sport modem.compared to gti. I guess the standard 19s come with 205 or 215 tyres..so guess grip could be a problem

I usually cover driving part in my night POV which would come day after day POV. But this car was booked for rest of the week for test drives. So I will get it next week and finish that part. In general this car was more comfortable on 18” rather than 19” even with adaptive suspension. Cabin insulation was pretty good. DSG is same on Golf and Octavia. Car is pretty responsive in Sport, gives you a nice kick in your seat when you flor it. I will do consumption test when I get the car. Unfortunately dealer didn’t order the GTI, not sure why.

I have heard that the cabin noise is more than others in the class and the suspension too rigid to be used as a family car. Is that true? Between this and Passat, which one to get? Am I better off saving some money and getting the Octavia Style as a small family car for family outings, day trips, long drives? For daily commute I have a different car.

Passat is better made, has better sound proof but Octavia has load of space.

Are the leather seats standard or optional? The UK version seems to have cloth seats... Also do you need to pay extra for traffic jam assist? It comes standard with ACC so not sure if that comes as standard too...

Is the 3-spoke steering wheel also *capacitive* for the Lane Assist? I heard the 2-spoke is at least instead of the old weight-checking system.

This is a test car. Consumption isn’t realistic. I will get it for a longer test and do proper consumption test. So subscribe and turn on bell to get notifications.
