FYI: God damn it, I'm an absolute moron. ;) I totally mixed up the gearbox. I thought because it says D/S on the gearbox that i have to flick the stick to the right to get to Sport Mode instead of pulling it back once again. I should have known better as i have driven plenty of Audis and VWs. Guess it was the heat of the moment. Ultra fail! :) P.S.: Please feel free to mock me. ;) Anmerkung: Ich war im manuellen Modus statt in Sport. Da auf der Gangschaltung D/S angegeben ist, dachte ich wohl in dem Moment, dass ich den Hebel nach rechts kippen muss, um in Sport zu kommen. Stattdessen hätte ich in D erneut nach hinten ziehen müssen. Ich Volldepp. Fail ;)

It's your fault that the car changes the gear so late. In manual, the car changes the gear only to protect the engine from overreving, not for the best performance. Try using the S mode of the gearbox next time.

Guyes at 3700rpm this engine does its best work 118hp. If you use S mode it revs out over 4400 rpm and the power drops 30hp torque drops 40 lbs. Because its a diesel power drops off badly. Petrols are keen to rev. 7th gear and 3700rpm will give more top speed than 6th gear and 4600 rpm.

I thought that I was in Sport mode and did not understand why the f*ck the gearbox would not upshift. It turned out that I put it in Manual mode instead.

For the ones that say it's to heavy ,get informed first !Even if it looks big ,at 1395 kgs it's way lighter than a Passat/Mondeo/Insignia closer to a Focus or Golf Variant.So it has pretty good performances .

212 km/h in a 1,6tdi fully stock is not bad! With a remap, this engine is really great. Got the same engine in my Golf mk 6, with remap(155hp). Before remap it was kinda dull. After, it has really changed the whole feeling with the car. It can now keep up with the bigger 2,0 tdi's out there(stock).

You put the gearbox in manual mode that's why it didn't upshift ! the manual mode upshift only when the driver make a long time to upshift [maybe when he forget like your situation] i learned that with the gearbox of my audi Q5 2.0 tdi 170 (sorry for my english)

Buen coche , bonita linea , acelerecion y comportamiento mas que aceptable por lo visto en el video , aqui en españa es una buena opcion como utilitario dadas las restricciones de velocidad que hay impuestas , para mis necesidades preferiria el octavia , aun asi mi enhorabuena a la marca checa por el buen trabajo con este modelo .

8.5l and 11l? Are you mad? If your consuption is like that than i recommend checking the car out because there is no way in hell that it should eat that much. Even the 1.9tdi had 5-6l in city and 4l on motorway, I cant believe that a smaller and modern tdi gets more consuption than an old tdi... BS Also it is a tdi so it loses power at 4k rpm. Just so you know so no point reving it up to the limiter.

An engine will not only consume 4l while going full throttle on the motorway/ Autobahn. Maybe if you are going 80kmh constantly but not at 200kmh+.

Hey people. Looks like you have little mistake in inteoduction overview. Fuel consumtion equals to 11l on highway in100km/h. Are you serious?

Yes, the 11l represent the average full throttle driving style shown in the video.

Strange shifting. Reving diesel to nearly 5000rpm is just too much for that kind of engine. I saw many test drive of this car, but nobody had this problems.

Weight is much less of a factor in top speed. It after all accelerated slowly. Also this is unlikely to be 212km/h due to inaccuracies in the speedometer. GPS recorded speeds are more accurate, hence when testing officially that is what is used. My V6 4motion which is updated to 219 PS reads nearly 160mph on the speedo. It is not doing that I would bet however!

I have the same HP in my Renault Laguna 2 (1.9dCi, 88kW) and speeds about 210-215 km/h aren't the problem :-) Sorry for my bad English.

Der 1.6 TDI zieht sowieso nicht, egal ob bei 3000, 4000 oder 5000rpm im Begrenzer :D Für normale Fahrsituationen reicht es, aber mal eben zügig überholen auf der Landstraße geht mal so gar nicht. Ich würde mal gerne einen älteren Honda mit 1,6er Maschine sehen, am liebsten einen CRX delSol, falls du mal Zugang auch zu älteren Fahrzeugen bekommst.

Mal eben zügig überholen sollte man definieren, waghalsige und knappe Manöver wo man der Leistung vertrauen muss gehen wohl in der Tat nicht :)

FewFwe Ok, dann definiere ich mal :D 3. Gang 45kmh seit geschlagenen 3 Kilometern hinter einem Mofa auf einer kurvigen Bergstraße, ca. 300 Meter lange einsehbare Senke und man tritt mal eben zum überholen drauf. Nach 2-3 Gedenksekunden gehts dann mal über 60kmh und man kommt auch rechtzeitig vorbei, aber es wäre definitiv ein größeres Sicherheitspolster mit mehr Leistung. Bergauf auf die Autobahn das gleiche Spielchen, da kämpft man sich erst durchs Turboloch bis 1500rpm und dann wird es nach 3000 doch schon wieder zäh. -Kein Beinbruch, aber wenn rechts 100kmh gefahren werden muss man die so erstmal erreichen/überschreiten. Mit Fahrkönnen kann man das meiste ja locker kompensieren, aber wozu, wenn es BMW-6 Zylinder gibt :P

Ist alles plausibel was du geschrieben hast, aber Leute die sich für einen 1.6 TDI mit 120PS (in der oberen Mittelklasse wohlgemerkt) entscheiden, wollen eher nur mitschwimmen und sparsam fahren :) Ich z.B. wohne im flachen Rhein-Main Gebiet und würde daher wohl nie in die Gelegenheit kommen, einen Motor bergauf etwas abzuverlangen. Ein starker 6 Zylinder würde hier also nichts bringen, außer mehr Verbrauch. Denke auch, dass man die Leistung mit Handschalter viel besser handhaben kann, mit 120PS finde ich die Automatik unnötig

Little engine performs better than expected, takes the torture. But does not fit the character of the car. If you use the car on german highways regularly like that (150 kmh+), the little engine will wear out quite soon.

nicht mal untermotorisiert. lediglich auf "M" gestellt und normalerweiße wäre "S" für Sport das richtige. In "M" dreht der Diesel nun mal aus und schaltet nur dann um den Motor vor schäden zu schützen. Wenn er früher schaltet geht er um einiges besser
