I am next to Acropolis right now, after watching the whole military parade Thank you for the perfect timing once again. Χρόνια πολλά σε όλους τους Έλληνες 🇬🇷🙏🏻
I also saw the military parade, the nice thing is that I knew every piece of equipment for the G3 rifles to the Marder 1A3 infantry fighting vehicle and the Leopard 2A6 Hel main battle tank (Greek variant, but isn’t really that different from the original German variant (Leopard 2A6) ) . Anyway I would like to ask you a question…. Είσαι έλληνας ;
Greek history is literally so fricking interesting, like every point of it, it’s insane. First you had the ancient city states, colonizing the whole Mediterranean leaving names, civilizations and settlements still there and important to this day. These cities also were incredibly advanced culturally and economically leaving in many places a gigantic impact to this day on society. Then they repelled the largest empire in antiquity after which some dude in the north even conquered it all in a matter of years spreading their culture throughout the known world. Even after Alexander’s death the Hellenistic world remained very influential, so much so that when the Romans took over the reamnents of Alexander’s realm it was not them who assimilated the Greeks but rather reversed where Rome took over many Greek customs because their culture was just so impressive and influential. After the fall of the West it was the Greek east that carried on the Roman legacy not only surviving but thriving and remaining powerful despite a ton of challenges, until being a thousand years later conquered by the Turks after some sad last years. Even under the Ottoman yoke the Greeks kept their identity and in a David against Goliath struggle after years of brutal fighting regained their independence becoming again a player in the Balkans and the wider region. Greece is truly here to stay with barely any group of people leaving behind such a legacy as the Greeks. Much love my Greek friends.🇬🇷
I tend to think Byzantine culture lost its Roman influence around 1200. At that point the HRE was more Roman with its ties to Latin and Roman Law. Other than that, agree with everything
@@EinDeutscherPatriot620 "the HRE, composed mainly of German states, is MORE roman than the region that houses the second Roman capital" fits your profile XD
@@FishwicksREAL Yes, literally. The Byzantine Empire only became more distant from the Roman Empire whereas the HRE was specifically founded to replace the Western Roman Empire. When the Germans conquered the Western Roman Empire, they ultimately became the guardians of her fate and carried on her legacy in the west while the Eastern Roman Empire did the same in the east, for a time anyway. Come the 1200s, the Eastern Roman Empire was just a Greek Empire identifying as Roman and it was the same with the HRE being a German Reich identifying as Roman. They were still closer due to the fact that it was a Catholic state who used Latin and Roman laws which were effectively removed in the east. One could make the argument that the Kingdom of France was more Roman than the Byzantines
@@EinDeutscherPatriot620 What does being Catholic have to do with anything? Nobody ever gave the Pope authority to name Roman emperors, the Patriarch of Rome (The Pope) was named from Constantinople for a good couple of centuries and the Christianisation of the Roman Empire happened around Constantinople. If anything, being catholic makes your claim less solid because it's literally a split from the rest of Christianity. The Byzantine Empire was literally the Roman Empire, there's no way around it. The HRE has little to no actual claim to the title. Russia has a better claim to the Roman Empire than the HRE, and we all know Russia's claim to Rome is a complete meme.
@@EinDeutscherPatriot620 "The Byzantine Empire only became more distant from the Roman Empire" My brother in Christ, it WAS the Roman Empire, what are you talking about? The HRE developed as a mishmash between local roman elites and germanic law, it was completely unrelated to Ancient Rome, what roman law are you talking about? Ancient Rome up until its fall identified as a republic, which the HRE collection of Germanic state was anything but.
Greece has one of the countries with the best history in the world, i dream one day visit this beautiful land. Love from your christian brother in Brazil🇧🇷✝️❤️☦️🇬🇷

@@Qazaqpyn_ My Kazakh brother, the Scythians were a federation, and in this close history, 2 of the 10 tribes among the Scythians were of Indo-European origin, and they were the tribes that later joined the Scythian lands And their language was not of Indo-European origin, there are a lot of articles about it, I can throw it out if you want But there was never a trace of Slavs in the Scythians

As a proud Turkroach i'm happy to to live in the best country ever But hyperinflation has ruined my life I have no future, my goat (wife) had died in the earthquake Food is so expensive I eat expired meat that gives me diarrhoea But I will rebuild my Goattoman empire with Erdogay as our caliph Proud Turkroach saaaar
