The Holden Gemini was a GM world car, meaning it was sold all over the world under all kinds of names, even in Japan sold as an Isuzu. The original car is the Opel Kadett, which was sold in the UK as Vauxhall Chevette

The Holden Gemini TX looks almost 100% like the Opel Kadett C (1973-1979)

It's amazing how this car also looks like the Brazilian car 1973 Chevette Tubarão in its hatch version( That it is even kind of rare to find one around here, at least I have never seen one personally, only heard about it) it's amazing how some cars in some places are exactly the same car but with another name or with some small changes.

Lex I’m Australian myself and when they do all the burnouts it’s called Summernats and the next one is next year Summernats 36 and when you see the burnout and the back wheels it’s called rubbing and the yellow car at the end it’s called an EL falcon your welcome in Australia when ever Hahaha love this video and the Aussie cars

Hey Lex, I've been "an Australian Viewer' for actually a few years now and been able to install GTA mods thanks to your tutorials. Absolutely love the videos. Oh yeah, and those big Burnout videos mainly take place at an event called 'Summernats'. The most famous Aussie cars are the Holden A9X Torana, Holden Commodore/HSV GTS and Maloo as the Ford Falcon. The XB GT model is also known as The Mad Max Interceptor.

Hey mate, this is very cool, as an Australian, a burnout car normally has huge front wheels, with aftermarket rims, but, in the rear, stock rims, normal tire size, sometimes smaller, and the rear wheels tucked in really far, but the front ones out a bit, otherwise very accurate, good job mate, keep up the content g! I also notice you said that you wanted to see some burnouts, we have summernats and rockynats, I just did rockynats, Its normally around easter, maybe you could come and do rockynats, I'd love to meet you as well, just a thought.

interior and engine compartment were Opel Kadett c, the isuzu/holden probably doesn't look like that, but the outside was correct, there was an Opel grill there too,

A lot of Holden's and fords from the 90s came put factory with a red colour trim, Nothing beats a dark green VS ss on chrome chasers with the red trim 😍

I think the performance trim level spec in the black and red was my choice for the Ford, even though I would rather see a variety of bright colours on the roads. As for the Holden, I think I'd want to spec something that combines the purple on the first with the red and chrome dome wheels with a higher ride height from the second. Classic performance with the modern (paint technology) respray in something metallic. I can respect the 2 styles shown, just neither do much for me to be able to outright say which of these I prefer, they're more 'equally different' to me.

My neighbour owns like 4 XR6s. 2 of them are shells and 2 of them are working cars. Both of which have Ford Barra Engines. And the falcon was Australia and South Africa for most of the time. But not they're only Australian

The engine in the EF falcon is not the Barra. The Barra first made its appearance in the BF/BA ford falcons.

Im pretty sure they use the word "skids" to replace "burnouts" because they do them so much better then anyone else.

Abit of a rabbit hole but I found out last year the Vauxhall Chevette & Opel Kadett was rebadged for so many companies. Holden Gemini/Isuzu Gemini is based on the Opel Kadett body.

The E series XRs are my favourite a lot of them here are blue and red stripe or black with red, camber on the rear doesn't make sense as they are solid axle rear

The Gemini is the same as an Opel Kadett C and pretty much the same as a Vauxhall Chevette apart from the nose. So not far off with the Viva guess.

G'day cobber 👍 Ok as I'm From Victoria, the larger burnout comps around Melbourne are easter & summer nats but they are held nation wide and far as I know r basically just called go to woh skid comps and they have different classes or 6 & 8 n/a cars and then obviously ur blown stuff Yes correct on the barra engine 👍 The ef was the predicessor to the ed falcon and was realized around 95 with the very similar looking el in 97 along with the xh ute (the last of the x series falcon utes, which all shared the same rear styling from about 79 with the xd to 99 with the xh before the au came out with the middle models been xe xf & xg Would've loved to have seen a wagon version and xh ute as an add on to that el model... As 4 the Gemini they are probably more realated to an Opel ( not sure what one) & the vaxhull Viva like u said As Holden copied & sold many cars ( like my daily xc combo van) which in the uk you'd know as a vaxhull & Germany as an opel, with many other cars, and probably more interestingly Toyota, rebadging the 89-approx 93 camery the Holden Apollo & Corolla the Holden Nova then later Toyota doing the same thing with the vr & vs commodore calling them the Toyota lexin with a slight restyle... Great job lex really enjoyed the vid if there's ever a pack like this of Aussie cars I'd love to see it 👍
