Do you know what messes me up with the war in Ukraine? Most of the guys killed were around the ages of 18-25 They were propably that random crazy kid we met one summer day in a CS:GO game and had fun calling each other names and laughing our asses off.
there is nothing surprising here. In the countries of our region, people are drafted into the army from the age of 18. The government forces them to serve.
@@ValeriyPersunov that’s not the point, the point is that these guys fighting in a war are in our generation. Never would they have expected it to even happen. One second we’re playing battlefield 4 online and having a blast, the next moment he’s dead in Ukraine.
This man, never felt any hatred toward Russian people. Growing up with the internet it made every person feel so much closer. I pray every day this violence stops. Maybe one day the Russian and Ukrainian people can embrace each other as the family they are. Cast out the tyrants. For it is only tyrants who pit brother against brother. Slava Ukraine and may we have peace.

wow, that whole video gave me the chills. Especially the short conversation at the end. The song itself is great, but all the sounds and the well delivered russian voicelines, everything. conversation at the end goes something like this, Male voice: "**unclear**, that had the biggest losses, fuck." Female voice: "Were they [the casualties] on our side?" Male voice: "Yeah, there almost none of us left. We started with over a thousand people. Now there's only four hundred of us left."
I think it was from a video released by the ukrainan intelligence about a standoff between a general and his troops, they lost 600 men, and the general said, you have 20 days to die (their contract was expiring in months worth of time). And the general told to go on the offensive, even though their combat capability was negligible, 2 out of 14 artillery batteries, 3 capable trucks and so on. Eventually he left, with no success

kino is one of my favorite bands. This song was released when the Soviet Union was at war with Afghanistan. The lyrics were also about reflection on the war. Young soldiers risk their lives and stay away from their homes and loved ones. On the one hand, they must obey the orders of the government
Listen to his song Kukushka (Кукушка), he asks her for his future. In Russia, since pagan times, the cuckoo has been considered a cursed bird that sees the future. And the song Legend (Легенда), about the swordsmen who remained in silence after the battle.
And so I was expelled from college at the age of seventeen, and this fall I turn 18 and I will be drafted into the Russian army. Considering everything that has happened and is happening right now, I want this terrible senseless war to end. I just want to say to everyone be safe and think and love everyone while you have the opportunity.
Guck luck. If you are from a bigger city you (for now) won't be sent to Ukraine, as of now the Russian government prefers to use contractniki from minority regions as canon fodder. If you do end up there, don't do anything stupid, don't get yourself killed and try to defect to the Ukrainian side. I know you probably love your country, but it's the right thing to do. I hope we don't meet in some field in Eastern Europe. Cheers
Wish you the best, chief. Remember: History is written by the victors. This conflict has been dragging on for years and no one truly remembers the men that died in Crimea back in 2014 except their devastated families; don't bother with heroism when the whole thing isn't worth it. Value your own life, above all else. In short, defect if you can--I know I would.
A couple days ago Viktor Tsoi, the singer of the Kino group would have been 60 yo. Мы тебя любим, Витя, где бы ты не был. В каждой пачке сигарет, под звездой по имени Солнце или в группе крови. Цой Жив!

I used to play war thunder a lot and well my friend was in a squadron full of young Russians once the war broke out this year we haven't heard from them since.

We decide not to talk about it and let them stay neutral because they still want to meet they relatives in russia but it the same time they were devastated from the war news away from frontline. We still talk like normal about anime stuft as always.
God, all these replicas and the sounds of the battle themselves are taken from the series "Raid", which was made by the developers of the game "Tarkov". It has nothing to do with reality. And the one who watched this series "In particular Me", experiences a cringe
Thats pretty sad ¡~¡ I never lost a friend and I cant imagine how terrifying this would be I hope you are doing well so far and please be safe wherever you live buddy
The horrible reality behind such a beautiful, melancholic song. Normally listening Gruppa Krovi gives me the imagination of cruising around in Roman's Taxi around Broker... not this time.
I mean it was written around the time of Soviet war in Afghanistan. Considering the lyrics, it was always meant to be associated with hopeless war in my mind.

I have a Russian friend who lived in the UK for a long time, and went to school with me. But sadly, I've lost contact with him a long time ago. He hasn't been on facebook for god knows how long. I heard he went back to Russia before the invasion, so we think, sadly he may of been drafted to fight. Wherever you are, Svat, I miss you and I hope you're alive and safe.
Hello from Russia! It's highly unlikely that your friend got drafted if he didn't serve in the military. Speaking as a category-II reservist (fit for service, no prior military experience).

Remember the day when my classmetes started to write Z on the board in the class. They were saying that a war between Russia and Ukrain began. I thought thay was impossible and that they're joking, like they usually do. Until my mom told me the same when i returned. Now im in a differnet country with a fiffernet citizenship learning on a foregn language. And i lay in bed and realise, that im 18 in 3 years, and the drafting letter would probably not hesitate to get to me. If it does then I wont be able to go to Russia and see my grandma, grandpa and friends again. Lets just hope everything will end soon
If you wondering why I can still receive a draft letter even though I have a differnet citizenship, it's because I still have a Russian one as a second citizenship.

I love your videos you make. You don't have a bias and you just describe the experience of war to us with these videos. I don't support any in this war. War is a terrible thing and should never happen. Unfortunately, the real world isn't all pretty.
Kino was such an amazing band, I don’t even speak Russian but after reading the lyrics only once I can understand it perfectly, the vocals have unmatched emotion. So sad that nothing has changed in Russia since the Soviet-Afghan war. History repeats itself. To any Russians reading this, don’t let this bloody cycle continue, your leaders use you to further their selfish gains while pretending you’re fighting for the greater good. Don’t let them massacre you and leave your country in ruin so they can buy another mansion. Your history is tragic from Stalin sacrificing the Soviet youth for a noble cause Gorbachev in the Soviet-Afghan War to Yeltsin and Putin in Chechnya, can’t you see that Ukraine is another pointless war and that after this one Putin will send you to yet another former Soviet state to fight for nothing but his own greed.
it's hard not to be a Russophobe yourself when your people don't understand such simple things for so many years. it's hard for me to love my people. either I will make my country a better place, or I will die with it, I will never emigrate. this is true patriotism to me I just needed to talk it out, sorry
It's insane that people can really write this kind of non sense : "so that Putin can buy another mansion" ?! Dude you really think that ? Things are so simple to you ? You never wondered if it was at all possible that Russia was deliberatly pushed by the West through regime coups and Color Revolution orchestrated by intelligence services, into conflicts for example Afghanistan or Ukraine ? Stop thinking it's Bad on one side and Good on the other, Life ain't a Marvel movie.
Don't worry, it's just a training exercise. We aren't going to need all this fuel anyway. We can sell the fuel and rations to the Belarusians for better food. Don't worry about doing routine maintenance. The supply officers have pocketed the budget for themselves so there are no spare parts.
I've always enjoyed your content, even if the word "enjoy" seems like it's inappropriate- to experience vicarious misery though songs depicting war and loss, in various eras. If you ever go back to anything related to russia, here's another song suggestion. Train on Fire by Aquarium. Most applicable to the Soviets leaving Afghanistan, but plenty of other later historical events of the russians leaving and going home that would fit that song.

dude the detail on this wojack is insane, the top pouch actually has an x on the little strap symbolizing "direct pressure" as in a bandage that applies direct pressure as opposed to a "indirect pressure" like a tourniquet which would be symbolized as a circle. the symbols are ment so that if someone is trying to treat you they can instantly find your tournequet or bandage instead of fumbling around trying to find it, every second counts when an artery is squiting blood. and the fact we can't see a circle on any of the pouches (and this is a stretch if it was actually intentional) may lead us to the fact that many of these russian soldiers where poorly armed and most don't even have tourniquets.

I can only regret the Ukrainians, who dies for his motherland; not Russians, who dies only for the imperial ambition of Putin.
@Jorundus You're quite right. But we just shouldn't blur the responsibility for this war, because the situation is unequivocal: one country has attacked and the other is defending.
