Выставка, посвященная Новому году по восточному календарю, символом которого является дракон, вступающий в свои права 10 февраля.
Дракон является неотъемлемым символом культуры многих восточных стран. Так, в китайской мифологии он олицетворяет жизнь, силу, мудрость и добро. Сведения о китайском драконе повлияли на формирование образа этого существа в культурных традициях Японии. Дракон часто встречается в мифологии Кореи, Вьетнама, Монголии и Тибета как символ добра, богатства и жизненного благополучия.
Драконы живут на страницах многих изданий Центра восточной литературы. На выставке представлены произведения китайского и корейского фольклора, исследования мифологии стран Дальнего Востока.
An exhibition dedicated to the New Year according to the Eastern calendar, symbolized by the dragon, which enters its rights on February 10.
The dragon is an integral symbol of the culture of many Eastern countries. Thus, in Chinese mythology it personifies life, strength, wisdom and goodness. Information about the Chinese dragon influenced the formation of the image of this creature in the cultural traditions of Japan. The dragon is often found in the mythology of Korea, Vietnam, Mongolia and Tibet as a symbol of goodness, wealth and life well-being.
Dragons live on the pages of many publications of the Center for Oriental Literature. Chinese and Korean folklore works, studies of mythology of the Far East countries are exhibited at the exhibition. Albums of painting and arts and crafts are presented: "Samples of Drawings of Japanese Craftsmen" (Tokyo, 1837), "Painting of the King of Korea and His Subjects of the Joseon Era" (Phaju, 2014).
Also of interest is the picture book Heroes of China and Japan (Tokyo, 1836), consisting of 31 engraved drawings by Katsushika Hokusai. They illustrate events in Japanese and Chinese myths and legends. The edition has been scanned as part of the NEB Book Monuments project and is available online. The multi-volume "Notes of Mr. Nantsun", published in China in the XIV century, should not be overlooked. Its slipcase is decorated with images of dragons.
