DVD - opensharing.org/torrent/94519/
I am from Brazil and I have a Brazilian friend who has some Ukrainian roots, in her city she takes part of a folk group Ukraine is a beautiful and colourful country. One day I will visit it. Regards from Brazil. Djakuyu
Just read some of the remarks posted over the last year. My gosh!! what a lot of hoo haa over what the song is about. and where it was sung in front of. These young students came out to Khotyn Castle and made a video clip (or two) and sang traditional ethnic Ukrainian songs while dressed in stylised ethnic Ukrainian clothing. They did a magnificent job for a fledgeling group. The people who made the videos did a terrific job (even with editing gaffs)on all the clips taken during this outing. Get over it people and enjoy the music. Most of these students have moved on and this is their legacy to Ukrainian heritage.Don't spoil it with stupid arguments. I was recovering from double bypass heart operation and these young people were an inspiration and timely jolt to my interest into the Ukrainian heritage I have.Keep the comments as they should be, respectful.
Super beautiful music, super beautiful girls, super beautiful landscape/country. Glory to Ukraine. God Bless beautiful Ukraine and it's wonderful people. Greetings from the North American continent.
+Sonja Bursilovski You are welcome. And I think Ukrainian cuisine is also super delicious; I always enjoy a sumptuous plate of Котлеты по-киевски or a tasty bowl of борщ. Sooo yummy, healthy, and colourful :-)
+bartsimpson67543 Prince Svatoslav the Bold liked it very much during his balkan conqest campaignm so he eve wanted to move capital from Kiev there, but he was defeated by Eastern Roman Empire.
Not at. The word "dunaj" in old Slavic ,and still in some contemporary languagues means any running water. So,the second longest European river Dunaj( Danube) is just called " River"
I enjoy listening to the song. It's about a cheerful girl who was sent by her mother to wash clothes in the river ( dunay), but she spent all the time with boys.
Michaela Suváková Uzasna is mean on slovakian nice, in ukrainian its mean дивовижна (dyvovyzhnа) or хороша (horoshа), praca is робота (robota) or праця (prac'a)
websterbodybuilder websterbodybuilder Hi webster.. If you glance to the comments in here, you'll see that the place in the background where the movie is made is a place in Ukraine that formerly belonged to Romania. Some of the people that posted here pretend that Bucovina, the place you see here does no longer belong to Romania, since Moldavia and Romania is not the same country. The the castel you can see in the background was built by one of the most powerful ruler of Moldavia, Stephen the Great. Moreover, both the dresses and the music do not seem to look niether sound Ukrainian, but rather Romanian. My mother is Moldavian, and father Romanian from Bucharest, and let me tell you they don't need a translator, since the language is the same...
blackduck I do agree that the language is ukrainian and now the place is under ukrainian occupation. This is another matter. Please look carefully at the suit worn both by the male and the lady, and compare with what you can see in Romania. Just a few questions, and let me see if you have correct historic knowledge of your own language : what means "u - kraina" in the old slavonic language ? I don't belive this can be a country's name, neither a population's name. Second question : when did the pretended ukranian population and how did it get formed ? Please answer me... Thank-you
tonyboy6768 "Northern Bucaviva" is not under Ukrainian occupation because Eastern Slavs have lived in this part of Europe since the 5th century and the region was part of Kievan Rus. Ukraina translates into frontier or border land a transitional zone between forest and steppe. Originally Ukrainians and Belo Russians were known as Ruthanians. Those that were subjugated by the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the 2nd Polish Republic wished to differentiate themselves from their brothers that lived in Czarist Russia and the USSR and began referring to themselves as Ukrainians. Canada is an Indian word that means "village" and the citizens of this fair land call themselves Canadians. So why shouldn't the inhabitants of "the Ukraine" call their country Ukraine and themselves Ukrainians.. You don't by any chance suffer from the "Kresy Blues" tony????
blackduck Perfect. It's the right translation. I suppose Canada was maybe a name adopted by the newcomers who had just taken a local indian name with the signification you mentioned, but had not the faintest idea of the right signification, since that was a foreign term for them... But tell me regarding Ukraine, who gave such a name to a country and a population. They adopted such a name themselves, or was given by a foreign power. And if so, what foreign power could have given such a name as "border country". What country on the earth could be in border of what ? Certainly of a foreign power. Right. Think it over and reply... Thank-you
