I don't know who you are Mr. How ToTech, but I just need you to know that your amazing and thank you so much. I've been having problems with my Roku that's built into my Sharp TV. Most of the apps wouldn't work and I tried a few different things, all of which did not work. Than I came across your video and I have to be honest I thought it was a joke "click the home button 5, arrow up once etc etc. So I said I'll bite, I'll give it a try and I'll be darned, IT WORKED! Thank you so much for making this video the very first option worked for me. Something I would do in the future is repeat something like (Home button 5 times Up arrow 1-time Rewind 2 times Fast forward 2 times) If someone had not put this in the comments I would have been trying to figure it out and getting way more frustrated than was needed. But a very good format and a great video that helped me to not have to buy a new TV or pay to have this one fixed. Cheers!

I'm an old Army Aviation maintenance officer and test pilot. Our aircraft troubleshooting guides were written using the KISS principle, so always started with checking the simplest, fastest and least costly things that could go wrong. In my case, the Roku power block had dislodged slightly due to a furniture move. It looked OK, but close inspection confirmed that the power light was out. Reseating the plug solved the problem.

Dude, my TCL TV stopped outputting sound from my PlayStation on the HDMI ports. ALL 3 OF THEM! Every now and then, it would surprise me with sound, making me think all was well until the very next time I started my PlayStation, no sounds again! I found the link to this video in a Roku forum filed with frustrated TCL TV owners. And the 1st suggestion using the remote control ACTUALLY WORKED! Thank you, to the uploader, for your efforts. To anyone on here who has the same issue I have, my tv was on and plugged into a power strip, I turned off the power strip while the tv was on. I turned on the tv, everything was glitchy and pixelated (I was terrified I power surged my tv and broke it) but after doing the reboot it works fine. ...this actually worked! My Alexa Roku skill was giving me "Something Went Wrong" for every command, even asking "Alexa, TV on". I tried the reset thing using the cheat code and it worked. Had to slow down the playback to half speed because the guy talking in this video says it fast, as though it is the cure for cancer and bigPharma is out to get him!

Step 1 worked to make my usb port read my external hard drive! It fixed a screen that came up where the media player app told me to put my external hard drive into a new format. I knew it was wrong and step 1 fixed it on the first try. Thank you!!

All the apps on my tv were working except my RU-vid app it was seriously starting to irritate me so bad so I watched other videos and nope nothing worked then I followed your advice about clicking on the home button rewind etc and it actually worked!!! Yayyyy thank you, I’m so pumped that this worked!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

@@timchee6764 mine does the same thing dude. Fine one second then it starts changing the colors and lines go everywhere. If you figured it out please reply with the solution so I can get rid of it.

Thanks. My RU-vid app only app wasn't working. I went straight to the System Update and now my RU-vid app on my Roku is working, woot woot. Thank goodness for RU-vid videos and extra devices show us how its done. 😎
