This is how Curve works. From fifa 12 manual: Curve: How well a player can curve the ball when passing, crossing and shooting. Good curve will result in that your player can curve ground passes and ground through balls around the opponents, same for lobbed through balls. When crossing into the box, be it from open play or corners, the curve will affect the quality. Lastly the shooting gets affected, mostly mostly when shooting a free kick or attempting a finesse shot
