No need to carry it though. One of the main reasons I was looking at the Segways are how they fold. When collapsed, you can roll it behind you, while holding the handle bar handle.
In my eyes the BEST review of Ninebot ES2 in English on RU-vid so far. You sad everything what i really needed to know! My ES2 comes tomorrow. Going from SXT Neo to ES2. I love this things and love to drive them in city jams. Thanks to Ninebot, to let you make this video! Thumbs up and keep up the great work! Greetings from Munich- Germany.
Look what I just found. Ninebot No. 9 Folding Electric Scooter's for 349.99 dollars. www.gearbest.com/kick-scooter/pp_862232.html?wid=1433363&lkid=14329310, I bought one!
Your video reminds me of how much I miss my trips to Malaysia (from US). Used to love the warm weather and escape from our dreadful winters in the Pacific Northwest.
How refreshing. This is by far the best review on the Ninebot ES2! Its in English, hits the points I wanted and not done by some scantily clad dressed woman. Anyhow, I think the ES2 will fit my needs perfectly, well in directly. I'm thinking about buying one for our son to ride back and forth from the bus stop during school days. Its only a few miles away and on a hill. Thats why I'm looking at an electric vs manual, our old house was easy riding manual scooters and bikes. I think he will enjoy the ride home a lot more with an electric.
The option to add a second battery is great. But the only thing that I would worry about is how the handle bar is locked. Looks like you could be riding and all of a sudden it'll collapse.
Michael Taylor from my experience the handle bars are quite secured. You would notice if it was loose. Always good to check all the locking parts before you ride.
It was so marvelous, the Ninebot Z10 (unicycle) and the es2 (e scooter). This Ninebot Segway is a nice company, it is subsidiary of Xiaomi, which IPO in HK.
Just want to say, for an informational review that was a nice lively video. Great job on helping people make a good purchasing decisions, and doing it in an enjoyable way. Liked and subscribed ✌️ peace.
We've had the ninebot es2 in my country since Feb 2018 and our users group has found dozens of issues. 1. Mainboard issues (slower speed when headlight is on), 2. Broken fenders (some as early as 2 weeks from purchase). 3. misaligned handlebars/front hub out of box and loose screws. but the WORSE issue is that you can NOT buy tires only. When you wear out the tire, you have to buy an entire rim+tire and the front tire requires includes a HUB. That's expensive and not eco-friendly. I'm sorry but we consider this unit a nightmare and resorted to recommending the mijia + solid tires if they hate flats. We can fix those easily.
I live in the Philippines where we have horrendous traffic problems. Gas prices have soared this past year and with UBER getting out of our country it just drove the populace to look for alternatives.
Sad to hear that you have had issues with it. I guess I'm lucky to get a unit that didn't fail. But it wasn't perfect had the temperature warning come up several times when i did ride it.
Thanks for the review. I decided against this though, because a lot of the comments are negative. I would like to buy something that is backed by local service when there is a problem. It looks like people on here aren’t happy at all. I’ll go for an Inokim.
Great vid. Wasn't aware of the option attach an additional battery. Going to check with NinebotUS to see if they're stocking the ES2 as well as the battery add-on.
Apparently the battery packs will not be available until May. That's what the two sources I found online stated. Hopefully they do start to ship them out by then. Again, thanks for the vid. I'll watch out for new vids.
Yeah I'm thinking about it... if its really practical to carry it around travels? Travelling around with it might be a bit of a hassle. Lifting it into train and bus. Taking steep stairs... Still thinking too if model S1 or S2 incase I decided to buy, does speed matter? S1 is 20km and S2 is 25...
Travels as in taking it on a holiday? Locally if you ride it from your home to the train station that should be okay. Speed at 20-25kmh is just nice, but once you are used to it i would say 30-40kmh is just nice.
dang, i watch this one guys kept riding electric scooter everyday to work in kl, so tempted to buy. donno that segway also make this product and it's available in MY. Good and clear review btw. kudos
LOLgarena thanks for watching. I have a friend who commutes to work on one of these everyday except when it's raining. Always wear a helmet and be safe.
Not sure why they didn't put a sprocket on there that was free when not engaged? That way if you ran out of power, you could just use it like a scooter and it would still be an excellent form of transportation.
I just bought an ES4 on Ebay, and from my research online the ES4 is basically just an ES2 with extended battery. However, the ES4 that I received has "matte black" steering column ( so pretty much all black) compared to many ES2 review videos I saw are all silver (like yours). It is not an ES1 with external battery for sure because mine does have rear suspension. I am kind of confused why my ES4's color is different than others.
Does your unit show it as Segway or Ninebot? I was told and there are written reviews where Segway produces them in the matte black and name the model ES4 while ninebot is silver ES3. www.envyride.com/segway-ninebot-electric-scooter-comparison/
Andy Kow aren’t all Segways manufactured by Ninebot? I’m looking to purchase the ES2 and I wouldn’t want to end up with a copy/clone. How do I avoid making that mistake? And how much is the cheapest I could find them for brand new?
Idk if i can it says something about "Can been shown in showRoom" This is the website im thinkin about buyin it www.homeshop.dk/ninebot-by-segway/segway-ninebot-kickscooter-es2-silver.html?at_gd=BB53BEFE0C5A5D6950C0774F2F4644E2C5AAFF05
A very important question 💡 Please answer it I am waiting 👌 When the battery runs out, is it possible to use leg to push it like non electric scooters? Or the engine gets locked? ⁉⁉⁉⁉ ✔
Some reviews claim the plastic wheels have less traction, are noisier, and are louder. What are your thoughts based on your experience with your scooter. I'm 51. I prefer a safe and comfortable ride.
Yes i have to say that the plastic wheels are a little noisier, but that depends on the terrain you will be riding on. But the noise isn't that audible, cause you'll have the wind blowing when you're moving. As for the traction, plastic wheels don't do very well on wet smooth cement, on concrete or tarmac they have a lot of traction. Also with plastic wheels you will definitely feel each and every bump on the road, so if you do go over uneven or rough patches you will feel them. Overall they do the job.
Amazon doesn't have a seller for them as of now. Just downloaded the manual for the scooter and it shows a great deal of info. Apparently they plan to introduce an ES4 model that includes the battery pack.
You are not carrying the scooter right! You should use it as a suitcase and drive it on it's front wheel using the handle to move it. That's way it's a lot more comfortable to carry.
@@AndyKow ohh, In that case you absolutely right, it is quite heavy to carry on with your hands. Anyway, thanks for the video I found it as the best review of this Escooter across RU-vid and I bought my own after seeing the video!
On the app , the maximum speed only 9.3 mph. How can I reach to the max ? And Can I reset the the total of travel each day ? I got the scooter last month. It is fun . Your review is really nice and useful. Thank you .
thatthewayaha you need to press the button to show S on the display white S is normal mode and red S is sports mode. Without the S displayed is in Kiddy mode :)
Hi, would you buy this or an ES4 with suspensions and less weight or the new Ninebot Max Kickscooter without any suspension and almost 70% heavier than ES2?
Great video! Is it possible to create a follow up video to this, talking about if you've had any problems etc. I'm seriosuly thinking about purchasing one however I've seen very mixed reviews. From what I can see people either love them and find them great or have nothing but issues with them and therefore find them terrible. If not a video a comment reply back ? I just really don't wanna make a purchasing mistake and feel I could trust your follow up
Thanks for watching Charlie. I only had the unit for a couple of days for review. I did use it as much as possible going everywhere i could with it. Fortunately it didn't rain when i did use it, i managed to try it out on slightly wet tarmac and no problems after that. Before you purchase make sure you can get support for the unit wherever you are, just in case you have any issue, then you can get help from the company. There will be mixed reviews I am sure. Like any product there will be unlucky users who will have issues and some who just hate it cause of it didn't perform. It worked for me, if I did buy the unit I would get it and the extended battery. So make sure you have support before buying cause after sales is the most important after purchasing.
sunsande whenever you use it manually without electric power you do feel a little friction. Comparing to a non motorized kickscooter you will definitely need to kick a little harder. Can't really tell you how much force cause I didn't measure that. But definitely still rideable if you kick.
Omon, it is water resistant, so if it's a light shower and the ground isn't too wet then it won't have any issues. But if you have a heavy downpour and the roads are really streaming with water.....I wouldn't try really. Lol.
Rodhy, honestly I don't think leaving the scooter outside unattended is advisable. If you leave it in your house porch, it's okay i guess but in public. Anyone can carry it away, you could lock it to a proper post but then again you would need a place to lock it to. Build in alarm system doesn't really do much to protect it from being carried away.
Hey Scharie, well it depends on the degree of the slope, but from my ride it did well, not sure what the degree was on the slopes I rode up, but doable.
Afshin fazal thanks. I don't think they sell these in a showroom. You can get it from Ninebot Malaysia on Lazada. www.lazada.com.my/products/ninebot-segway-kickscooter-es2-i238257572-s312223976.html
well that depends on the surface of the road you ride on. i tried on rough and smooth tarmac, smooth and rough cemented pavements. On smooth surfaces it's nice, on rougher surfaces I personally feel that the absorbers did their job to remove enough shock to enable me to ride the scooter. Also when you do ride you need to keep your knee bent a little so that you don't transfer all that bumpiness to other parts of your body :)
Don Don Dy S yea i may have left that part out. They are plastic tires. So over bumpy surfaces it will vibrate more. But you don't have to worry about punctures or filling air.
BBQ Becky the es2 has a shock absorber on the front and rear. Quite hidden but they work. Of course you wouldn't go over a high speed bump at full speed...right?
Hey Livio. It's not waterproof. More like water resistant. So if you're riding over a small puddle, then it's okay. But if it's heavy rain and constantly wet, don't think it will survive long.
Unfortunately i don't see how it will be possible to secure this scooter. Doesn't have a dedicated lock anchor. So I guess you are stuck with it unless you can park somewhere safe.
G0Riller dude Thanks bro, i still feel its not secure if ots lock by the apps, people might just steal it but maybe i'm wrong. I just bought the chain lock recently.
Hey man. Is you scooter still working well with extra battery? I have read it somewhere that extra battery fries main circuit board..is that true? I have ES2 scooter and want to buy extra battery..but Im not sure now.
Hey man, great video! Can u pls tell me how the scooter is performing on uphill routes? I'm living in a hilly area and would like to get your comment on that. Thanks a lot!
Hey Pavel, thanks. Well, I did try going up some slopes and I made it on some tries. It really depends on how steep the uphill is. Unfortunately, I didn't measure the steepness of that hill I didn't make it up. From memory, I would guess it was probably somewhere around 20-25 degrees. Hope this helps and if I managed to measure I will update you here :)
These are solid wheels. They are grippy enough if you are on tarmac, but on smooth cemented floors, they can become slippery. Best not to use it during heavy downpour and really really wet roads.
Well there are alot of factors to take into account when talking how far and long a full charge will take one person. Weight, weather, terrain, elevation, speed setting, etc etc. So it's hard to say how long it will run on 1 full charge.
I double checked the video and I can confirm I mention 12.5 kg towards the summary of the video. It does allow for 25 km on a full charge and up to a max speed of 25 km/h. Thanks for watching and I hope it was helpful.
Hey Charles. Yes i agree with Scolopente, get the ES2 if you can. I had a short ride with the ES1 and honestly i didn't really feel any major difference between the two. But the ES2 is a better buy with all the additional features.
I am not sure really, not till I get on it and drive the unit. But looking at the wider wheels it will probably affect some speed cause with wider wheels there is more drag. Wide wheel has a more powerful motor, but still with the wider wheels the drag is there. Stability wise i think the Wide wheel has an advantage. Wouldn't mind testing one these out.
I’ve had mine for a few weeks. Love it. But I can’t figure out a locking system if I bring it shopping and leave it outside. I don’t want it to get stolen
I wouldn't rely on the locking system that is built in. Even if is ON it will only "from my experience" just beep and the electric controls won't work. Still won't stop someone from carrying it and fleeing with it. Bet be careful where you park it, even if it's for a minute.
