Трамвайный маршрут №12 "2-ая улица Машиностроения - 16-ая Парковая улица" Moscow Tram Route #12 "Mashinostroeniya the 2nd street - The 16th Parkovaya street"
Молодцы, москвичи! У нас, в Украине, трамвайная инфраструктура, как правило, заброшенная и очень убита, к сожалению. У вас все очень даже здорово выглядит
An interesting question so I had a look. If you go to Google Maps the crossing you are looking at, at 12:12 in the video is at Abel'manovskaya Ulitsa - paste 55.73358324544553, 37.66827640640293 in Google Maps search box. If you use Google Street View you can get close to the overhead crossing - (but not directly under it) - and if you zoom in you can see it very clearly. The trolley wires are continuous and are slightly above the tram wires so the trolley booms slide through the gaps in the tram wires. There are two short gaps in the tram wire to allow for the trolley heads. The tram pantograph has two cross rails bearing on the overhead wire and I suppose each one prevents the other from falling into the gaps as they run along the wire. You will see that there is an electrical bond around the unit on the tram line to carry the current past the gaps.
@@c2757 Thank you, C. Shallook when I have time. Gauge? When I visited Panama, I assumed standard 4' 8-1/2" gauge. But it looked a little wider. Apparently their gauge is 5 ft. Wish ours were 5 feet or better, 6 feet. My Great Uncle was a steam locomotivengineer. His huge 4-8-4 freight locomotive was a big as it could get, restricted by the 4' 8-1/2" gauge. Imagine if 6-foot gauge! Thank you.
