Commentary: A beautiful song by the late Khanum Muqaddas Nabieva. Khanum Muqaddas was born in 1950 into a family that lived on a collective farm. She originally studied to be an Agricultural engineer but switched to Tajik Institute of Physical Culture at the Faculty of Athletics. In 1972, she became a Physical Ed instructor at a Local School and would spend her free time participating in Local Amateur Singer for the Parkhar House of Culture. In 1974, Khanum Muqaddas participated in a local Singing competition that was attended by the director of the Gulshan band; Orifsho Orifov. After her performance, Orifsho offered her a position as a lead singer for the Gulshan band and from 1974-1979 she was a frequent performer for Gulshan. During her tenure, she performed in countries such as France and Poland. Sadly in 1979, at the young age of 29 she died in a tragic car accident in the Fergana valley when she was going back to Dushanbe. Although she is gone, her vocals and songs have left a legacy in Tajikistan and the surrounding countries. #tajikistan #tajikmusic #funk #vinylcollection #vinyls #farsi #farsimusic #afghanmusic #tajikwomen #femalesingers #1970s #oldtajikistan #sovietvisuals #watan #watani
