#shorts
NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has already delivered the deepest and sharpest infrared images of the distant universe so far. But the latest image to be released is of an object much closer. The giant gas planet Jupiter and it's stunning! Webb is the next great space science observatory following Hubble, designed to answer outstanding questions about the Universe and to make breakthrough discoveries in all fields of astronomy. Webb will see farther into our origins: from the formation of stars and planets to the birth of the first galaxies in the early Universe.

@@KnubbelKekz Digitally edited or Digitally enhanced from a Infrared image, it's like re-editing an old B&W film you can extrapolate the colors from the shades of grey but it will never 100% be the original colors captured. The current technology simply isn't able to store such large amounts of data for a device that needs to store video footage for 24/7 for months, if we were to use high quality cameras. We would quite literally need to invent a new technology that can convert terrabytes of video footage from each day into another type of data that requires very low storage capacity and reconvert it back into video format for when it needs to be viewed. The gov used to fund schemes for cctvs back in the day when there was a real need for it, now cctvs work decently so the amount of development that goes into it is also low. now the improvements mostly comes from private companies and they arent gonna invest that much or have the team capable for doing something like this. Not to mention the elephant in the room which is that such a technology will be hard to make for cheap and available for even government use let alone consumer use with the limitations we currently have.

It would be foolish to potentially jeaprodize the mission so tax payers can get a few pretty pictures. If people need something to be excited about then they can be excited about the knowledge we'll gain as a species thanks to this. If people don't see the value in that, there's no reason to give them any consideration at all really.
