Outer worlds is getting a proper physical and not just a code in the box! There is something about the escapism a HUGE open world can bring a player... Which are your favourites? BOTW should have had mini Yiga Clan hideouts scattered around the map, maybe with a key or password to enter. Every time you defeat a Yiga member on the road they drop a map/key/clue to their hideout.

Also Dragon's Dogma and Lego City Undercover.

I personally love the sparseness of Breath of the Wild. It produces an atmosphere of calm as you play, while at the same there is the realisation that that sense of calm came at the price of countless lives. If not fully apocalyptic, it is post-cataclysmic, and rather than the game trying to be overtly grim to reflect that, there are subtle flavours of grief and hope in the quiet. I do think the quests need an overhaul though. Bit more variety and challenge, less fetch quests, more inspired rewards than just a handful of rupees most of the time, which you have absolutely nothing to spend on towards the late game. Better dungeons and bosses as well. I loved the shrines, but the Divine Beasts could’ve been better. Then there’s Ganon. I spent 30 minutes collecting all the right gear. I got fully into character and prayed at the Temple of Time before going off on this final mission from which I may never return. I’d played 210 hours at this point. So much build up, then it was over in 3 minutes. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Thanks! While more of an open universe game, I think Starlink deserves a shout out here. The way you can drop down onto planets, explore them, then fly up through the stratosphere and continue exploring seamlessly is super impressive. Improvements: A) planets needs more wildlife B) more quest variation C) Pie-in-the-Sky - exit the ship

BTOW is one of my fav games of all time.... but What I would change is more variants of enemies. I’m a little bored of just different versions of goblins.

This is a list that everyone needed. Such beautiful gems needed to be shout out in the world! I wish BotW 2 would have multiplayer. Or even helpers. They had wasted that chance on the first game. I was actually quite annoyed that there is this huge calamity, every major area had warriors not helping you. They even had NPCs fighting but they didn't make it that you can hire their help. Or even just quests where they will help fighting. Damn it.

Skyrim on switch I just wish they allowed for modding so things like unofficial patch would be nice. If they selected a larian style gift bag would be great

Watching this after subscribing for a year and finally seeing what you guys look like.

A lot of good games on that list for sure ! I'm a little worried about the performance of Outer Worlds on the Switch but we'll see ! I noticed a lot of false cuts and flash frames on that video, I'm guessing the editing was a bit rushed ? :P

I see others have mentioned Dragon's Dogma too. Bought that game ages ago, haven't played it yet. Oh yeah and coming in the future is gonna be Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition, although I guess you could put it in the category of those games divided in smaller areas instead of being completely open. Those "smaller area" are quite big and open in their own right though.

I think what BOTW needed was dungeons/temples besides the shrines. Given the pseudo-apocalypse that happened and all the crazy monsters running around, I get why there weren't more towns with more things...kinda. Wish there had been, but I do get it. But I need caves to explore, or thieves dens, or even monster lairs. Some way to get loot and gear that wasn't shrine after shrine. Also, give me a sword that doesn't break. Just one.

I am pre-ordering Gods and Monsters when I at least knoiw the release date! And Ashen is now 20% off in my e-shop.. should I buy it or you guys think there is gonna be a physical version sooner or later??

I think with Zelda BOTW starting with only 3 hearts (whilst Typical) is somewhat of a gate keeper when people first start playing. I think a difficulty setting which could offer more hearts to start could be beneficial in BOTW2. Also being able to carry more cooked food, that's something i would personally like ! (i like to horde useful meals) and more diverse enemy types rather than reskinned ones. oh and a way to see an items durability so you aren't caught with your pants down mid fight.

There needs to be dungeons that unlock weapon based progression. Without that, it's really not a main line Zelda title

The outer worlds is a great game im playing on my pc with xbox game pass, but im for sure gonna buy it on my nintendo:) Also i wish that fallout 3 and new vagas would come to switch!! Who'd be down for that!?!?!?:D #letsgetitfunded

I liked botw quiet moments. Sometimes your the only one in the woods. Some open world games feel so barren and others feel so cluttered. I felt it was great, a lot like Witcher. Lots of empty spaces in witcher3 too .

I loved breath of the wild. As much as I hate having to buy extra stuff, I would have run out and bought additions to the map.. I wanted to keep exploring.

Caves. And dungeons. But also caves. I really loved the world in botw and it reminded me of the old days of the nes and snes. But those games had caves and dungeons.

I have been looking forward to outerworlds for a while now and disappointed it has been delayed from the March 6 date. Hopefully it want be to much longer but the good news is I heard they are putting it on cartridge now, so that will make it a better purchase.

Marked out for the Jason and the Argonauts reference. I'm showing my age. I have a lot of these open world games but just haven't committed to playing one of them. After playing and completing Zelda botw on Wii u then the switch realising I sank 500hrs + into the gsme, I just can't bring myself to that again yet, especially knowing the sequel is merely months away. I will have to play one through though, alongside Mario's oddesy which I still haven't finished the tutorial. It's hard when you have depression to find the will to play, I find myself lost in hours of RU-vid content and the day slips by. Without switchup I would have lost contact with the gaming world and wouldn't even interact What's wrong with me, shaking Ng head at self. I need to commit to just turning the damn thing on. I own 2 switch consoles both setup along side my Wii u which I have games still sealed. I want to play, I really do, I just haven't and I don't know what or why. My neck is sore, really painful, I'm waiting for that second surgery. All this from one incident that was out of my control. Please anyone out there if you feel like life is slipping away from you go and get help. This is terrible, it's like pergotary, it's 4:55am and as soon as I get a RU-vid notice I'm watching the video. Living life trapped in your head is like watching superman 64 play through. Anyway, sorry guys. Great content as always.

Totally agree with the thoughts on zelda. It was an open map, but not open world. Open world, to me, means its a living breathing world weather youre there or not. But it felt like most people and characters existed only because they had to be there for link to interact with. They didnt have any purpose other than that, and they didnt feel very important as such. That said, its still one of the best games ever. By a wide margin... i got a switch just for botw, most expensive video game i ever bought, and it was worth every cent.

I am looking forward to Ubisoft’s new game as well. Looks like a fun one.

BOTW had, in my opinion, two major flaws. As you touched on, the world was a little empty but what bugged me most was the fact that weapons can't be repaired. Favorite weapon, swing it 20 times, done. Packing around thousands of rupees but no one wants them enough to fix my sword. Adding a blacksmith to the sequel would be the greatest improvement. Skyrim could be improved upon by one simple thing. Make magic not suck. Level it up with your character of something. A fireball does 50 damage and always does 50 damage, never more. Need to add back in the game breaking mechanics of spell creation from earlier elder scrolls games.

Botw was fun exploring, combat was great, but some places seemed dead and nothing to do. I would love to see more NPCs with side quests that were more detailed. The world just seemed empty at times.

We finally brought Witcher 3 home and I love it. I Think if I could change something about the game it would be the horse. Look can we get our guy a Skyrim horse? I need something that ain't going to get hung up on every little tree or rock. 😅

Shout out for Saints row the third! Like a fast and furious game full of whacky characters and the soundtrack is fantastic! Such a shame it’s not a good performance in handheld. Much preferred it to the 4th one

I loved nearly everything about Zelda BOTW. The one thing im hoping for tho is coop with Zelda is BOTW 2. I just reeeaaalllly want to play Zelda for once. Doesnt have to be a replacement of Link, he's still my dude, but Zelda is so interesting (and admittedly goreous so id love putting different outfits on her like Link lol) and is undeniably under utilized as a character.

Anyone got any recommendations for open world fps on switch? I love the metroid prime games and zelda botw open world and would like something like a mix of both similar to both either sci-fi or post apocalyptic setting. Also I heard outer worlds is terrible so I don't know what to believe. I'm starving for a game like this.

BotW is as populated as it needs to be. The mystery is alive. You can spend hours upon hours of playing without even thinking about opening the map to check where you are. And that's an amazing achievement that no other game has ever offered. In the witcher exploration is forced on you in a way. You open the map and you feel overwhelmed by the crazy amount of information. All these questionmarks waiting to be explored. You even find yourself creating these invisible paths in your head about the optimal route you gonna take to explore all places. And that's a fact that doesn't complement at all the game. I'm a huge fan of both but BotW is superior in every aspect. Pure joy. Hands down the best game humanity has witnessed. At least till now.

I love the Zelda take, the 2D Zelda's are the best ones by and far. A Link to the Past being the greatest ever. BOTW is the best one since those by a long shot and I hope the new one is even better.

Yeah exactly my thoughts about Zelda. I the idea that it is an open world game. but comparing to Witcher III and Skyrim and other open world, the design of the world is kind of a dessert. It lacks design where you can interact with the nature something like that.

Just Cause 2 and GTA4 are like the easiest to port and easy cash grabs, especially mother f'n Borderlands 2. C'mon Nintendo. Sleeping Dogs, Dead Island and Dead Rising where they at?? Also Warframe has a massive Open World level that's bigger than most games here, it's just that the fast mobility mechanics make it seem smaller than it is. Impressive for a f2p games, especially how high you can transverse and fly through the air, while also having deep dungeons with large crevices. There's also DCUO, which aged pretty badly, but still a pretty good one for newcomers to explore around. But I guess your list aren't for strictly online play only games?

I just started Black Flag on the switch (never played it before) and so far, I'm loving it. There is a lack of anti aliasing in the graphics department but otherwise, it looks great. The witcher 3 is just too much of a downgrade after sampling it on a One X. Ultimately though, nothing beats BOTW for me at least.

You cant complain about a game not having alot NPCs when it tells you in game most of them were killed

The Outer worlds is pretty much one of those games where it shouldn't be coming to the switch but will be great to have it on there and just hoping that is runs well and is comparable to other versions. Just wish other publishers took a chance on porting games over that are current generation rather than just ps3 and xbox360 games or games plucked from steam

I didn't like the dungeon system in botw I hop in 2 the keep the open world but litter it with actual dungeons and no more breakable weapons. Outer world and God's and monsters look awesome. BTW God's and monsters reminds me of the awesome nes game battle for Olympus.

You guys really going in on BoTW being sparse, but I thought it fit the tone of the game. BoTW was all about appreciating nature and the sounds of nature. Also, it is a pretty, yet post-apocalyptic, Hyrule where shit got destroyed 100 years prior. It really felt that way. And also, it is not sparse. There is shit distracting you all over from bugs/flora to collect, Korok puzzles, ruins to investigate, etc.
