Daria is a cute little sprite with a strong, powerful alto voice. Her voice is full of energy and emotion like the crashing of mighty waves against a shoreline. This is a BEAUTIFUL song; can someone tell me of its meaning in English? Jess in northwest USA.
The month turned purple, Where the waves are raging against the rocks. "Let's go for a ride, pretty girl, I've been waiting for you for a long time." "I'm going with you willingly, I love the waves of the sea. Give the sail free rein, I'll drive myself." "You're heading out to sea, Where we cannot cope with the storm. In such crazy weather You can't trust the waves." "Can't you? Why is that, my dear? And in the past, the past fate, Do you remember, the treacherous traitor, How did I trust you?" "Listen, we're risking our lives, Crazy, turn the steering wheel! At this angry sea, Look at these waves." And the waves are rushing with a roar To their defenseless shuttle. "Away with the oars! From the death of the faithful So that no one can save us! You tricked me once, I tricked you today. Look: here's a damask knife, I took it with me for a reason!" And having said that, she stabbed He's got a damask knife in his chest. Herself with a weak heart She dived into the sea wave. The sea was agitated all night, The sea wave roared; And in the morning two corpses arrived And the splinters of that shuttle.
@@planshetekranoff4896 Och, so sad -like a lot of Russian songs. I have a balalaika and domra I am learning to play (self-taught); I ordered them from Russia before the recent war. I also play Russian (and Ukrainian) music on mandolin, which instrument sounds similar to -but not as perky as -balalaika. I have taught myself the Cyrillic alphabet and a few Russian words (what a hard grammar for us Americans!). My favorite Russian groups are the Osipov Balalaikas and the Moscow Cossack Choir. I love Russian music because it fits the fierce, deadly emotions of my manic-depression. Thank you very much for your translation and time to do it. Jess

Yeah, right,.... you are projecting your own demons; speak for yourself and your fellow Anti-Russians, because. that is what your identity is about - You are what you are Not, and not what you are...
