i bought the 2021 works adition 450, im a heavier rider at 6'2 215 pounds, the suspension is very nice for me except some head shake. Which that can be fixed by propper springs. I had a 2019 yz450 with full blown ohlins suspension and i have to say the suspension on this crf450 is right up there with the ohlins. Like i said besides the bad head shake on choppy short braking bumps. The ecu problem I fixed as well and let me tell you, this is by far the fastest 450 i have ever owned. I always want more power being a heavier rider, well this bike pulls my big ass around like nothing. It is alot of fun...
Eli,roczen,ac, few others really has shaped the professionalism of racing today..in relation of rubbin racing..they race clean.humble..not like old days..i used to wait for a blu on the podiums at the end of racing..
Huge Honda CRF450R fan (and owner) here. I would love to get one of these. That being said, you mentioned that this was a bigger jump in the works edition than the factory edition is to the normal KTM SXF. I’m not sure I agree 100%. The KTM you get the billet hubs, the billet split double triple clamp (this is a pricey upgrade) as well as some of the big things on the Honda like aftermarket exhaust (yea, the carbon Yoshi is probably a bit more pricey than the Ti Akrapovic and it doesn’t get the header). But the Honda is still another $1000 more than KTM. If I were in the market, even tho I love the look of the RWE, I’d probably buy the stock one, and use all of that money saved and get some goodies that I prioritize more. No, I wouldn’t bother with the KTM products. Hate air suspension, that’s a deal breaker for me
they have billet triple clamps because not have possibility use die cast clamps like Honda. These "billet" are poor stuff compared centrifuged die cast details.
Making it very easy to not buy this bike. I do appreciate you guys not hiding the flashing or the fact it is not that different. Not worth 14k after taxes
No kidding. The biggest problem the bike has, they overlook while bringing a bike & tech on hand. What a total shitshow. Biggest Honda blunder since the original aluminum frame.
That's why I love MXA. They tell it like it is, nothing but the truth. Other reviewers can't say anything bad about bikes. I only trust MXA for product and bike reviews/shootouts. They really put the time and effort into reviewing and don't sugarcoat. What a disappointment Honda has been, both the 250 and 450.
@@jonathondavis170 Yeaaaa. Im 49 yrs young! Riding since 11yrs old. Just picked up '21 Yamaha Raptor 700R-SE! Its a blast . 1hr on the hr meter i put on machine. Buff it w/ spray wax everyday. Soon a Rossier Engineering muffler goes on & to the woods /sand pit we go..hard. Ride!!! - Ohio.
They tell the truth. That's why they used to be Honda and Yamaha Action in the past. Austrians are just killing it right now but butthurt Honda fanboys hate to admit it!
@@caydenthompson126 have you ever ridden one to even have a opinion i seriously doubt it you're just trolling comments sorry but your yz250 isn't the best bike on earth either
@@michaeltrower6792 The CRF250R is a good bike, just not on par with the rest engine wise. The YZ250 isn't the best bike. I bought it for different reasons.
When I go buy my new '21 Yamaha 250F or Kawasaki 250F in 1wk or so there's no way im paying that fee. No way! *There's plenty powersports dealers in NW Ohio!!* Not worried :)
@@peterparker1724 said it was a dealership fee. Tried to say they don't make a penny on the price of the bike and most of the $400 pays the dealership overhead. Msrp is suggested price, not what they pay.
I respect Josh for saying it how it is. I have the exact same opinion, it’s fukin 2021 and they want over $12,000 for a fuel injected bike that runs like a 10 year old carbureted bike, it’s just unacceptable and anyone who buys one of these new Honda’s is a sheep. Theres better bikes out there for less money, I’d be buying 1 of those
I really like this bike but Honda really needs to give the WE more power than regular one for this kind of money. Hopefully Twisted development can come to the rescue and take advantage of the pipe this bike has.
The 2022 Honda models are already announced. Forget about doing a 450 shootout, it’s too late. Start concentrating on 2022, maybe you’ll find the time to do a full 450 shootout...
Totally agree!! I bought my 21 450 sxf in July. So much for getting help from the shootout to make a bike choice. I get MXA wants to get it right which is nice but they are at least 4 months late this time.
@Cuntsplosion 69 in a straight line yes but still sucks in corners which can never be changed. Swapped bikes with a yz faithful today and he said he wished he got a honda now he couldn't believe how easy he could throw the bike around through the corners, even the boys in the pit said he looked faster around the track on it. He did say the showas beat him up after 1 lap being so stiff but I do weigh 15kg more than him haha
@Cuntsplosion 69 once you've rode a crf or even a ktm you'd realise the yz does suck in corners big time. They are top heavy, wide and require alot of input to turn. The problem is yz fanboys are the new ktm fanboys from a few years ago but no bike is flawless. Yamaha sacrifices cornering ability for straight-line stability and Honda sacrifices straight-line stability for cornering ability neither bike is better than the other they just suit different riding styles
...4 Times.......Usually love your reviews but ya broke bad on Big Red 4 times.about the same thing... You know that kids these days will take this, run with it and make it ten times worse. Let us know...let Honda know and let Honda fix it. Also, saying $2800 extra isn't worth it...lets see...upgrade wheels, Full Titanium exhaust, Hinson bits, coatings, seat cover, Hand polish from factory, Kevlar grips, limited and exclusive...seems worth it to me if ya want it.
@@CenobiteBeldar yea ridiculous ..get a vented air box lid & slip on Yoshimura exhaust part only then u get plenty an no need rejet carb. Switch to NGK iridium plug also.. still got near 500 buck in pocket!
The reason they don't have the super charged map setting from factory is to protect inexperienced riders. Anyone can buy a works edition but not everyone should have untamed mode on.
@@sweetwolfasmraudio6726 right on unfortunately when you race Pro Sport The AMA rules are a little different in racing in the outdoors & SuperCross your bike can’t be more than 2yrs old stupid rule I’m my opinion especially for a privateer.
@@caydenthompson126 I mean let’s be real they are all shit bikes they don’t grease them they come with metal shavings on the steering stem bearings. All this garbage for the price you pay. But the world spins round and we still buy bikes
@@caydenthompson126 cool, don’t like it then don’t buy one 🤷♂️ Honda already has a reflash update for the ECU (that is, wait for it... FREE) and people like me who are 6’6” and 230lbs could honestly give a rats ass about stock suspension settings because we gotta spring and revalve anything we get anyway. Again, I’m going to go on a limb and say you’ve clearly never ridden one to get your own opinion. Now that being said, this video is about the WE and I’m mostly speaking on the R model. Personally, the exhaust and the basket are the only items I’d benefit from and those add $1,400 to adding them on an R. The extra $1,500 in the WE isn’t worth it to me, especially considering you have a head that isn’t even really ported and certainly not polished or matched on any track. All they did was light milling on the valve pockets. So in hindsight to your comment, I do kind of agree about the WE. Could be and SHOULD be more for the money. The the base R as a platform, I completely stand by my statement. But again, we are discussing the WE.
They didn’t rave about that suspension either. Even when you get it dialed in, still needs adjustments at the track as day goes on. NO thank you. On top Of that the nature of the air shock sucks, which is why Webb still isn’t running it
I entered a raffle to win a 2022 CRF450WE. If the seas part and I win, I will likely sell it since I have no where to put it other than a storage unit. IIn reality, I would sell it and buy a YZX 2-stroke. The 450 is too much power since I don't have a lot of experience riding a Bike...loved MX since I was a Kid though
If you are comparing retail, it’s $9,400 for the KX and if you want to compare apples to apples, the normal CRF450R is $9,600. So they are essentially the same. Ya, the suspension didn’t come tuned right out of the box, but 99% of the people serious about moto, get their suspension done anyways, so that is almost a non factor. As long as they get the mapping fixed, the CRF should do well, it’s just too bad they had these little hiccups on a launch model.
@@joeantolak4629 Nah, rwhp. e.g. _"We ran the FC 450 (2020, stock) on our rear-wheel dyno to determine peak output from Husqvarna’s flagship motocross bike. We documented 52.4 hp at 10,100 rpm and 33.2 pound-feet of torque at 6,800 rpm."_ - DirtRider
Can anyone get this bike or do you have to be a pro class rider to own this bike and hopefully they will do that for free because that's a lot of money to spend on something that has bugs right off the show room floor...
Hey man I think hondas are fucking stupid with the history of dual exhaust but I did ride the 2020 model and it was fast as hell good breaks, good suspension and motor was ridiculous
Josh! Why don't you just say what you want to say ... this bike sucks and go back to your overinflated, Keep Throwing Money at it, Kill The Motor - KTM that you're paid to promote! Your review is so ridiculously biased and obvious. Did Honda screw up ... most definitely, but you don't have to kick 'em in the nuts. This is a completely redesigned bike during the worst Pandemic the WORLD has ever had to deal with and is still dealing with! KTM engineers have been working on the Air-Shock for years and Cooper Webb couldn't win with it. They put the Spring-Shock back on and now he's winning again ( I'm a Cooper Webb fan and many other riders ). It's about the Rider and who he or she is as a rider and a person, NOT the machine he is on. So don't dog Honda for a couple of issues in the first few months of a completely new redesigned bike produced during a pandemic! Honda was understaffed due to the pandemic and were rushed to complete these bikes. AND the Cylinder Head ( NOT the cylinder as you kept referring to ) is NOT POLISHED! I have held a NEW and bare 2021 Honda CRF450RWE Cylinder Head in my hands. The cylinder head ports are smoothed out and refined in the transition areas from the steel intake and exhaust valve seats to the aluminum head. NONE of the ports are completely ported nor polished in any way! I own and ride an 02 CR250R, an 07 CRF450R, a 2019 CRF450R and now a 2021 CRF450RWE. The 2021 CRF450RWE is hands down the best bike I have ever ridden! This bike is truly Bad-Ass! A couple of my fellow riders own KTM's and their bikes brake down all the time while ALL of my Honda's Keep On, Keeping On without issue! RIDE RED! ALSO, the $2,800 upgrades on the 450RWE would set a buyer back well over $4,000 if they had them done themselves. 2021 CRF450RWE upgrades: Ported Cylinder Head ( as I described above ) ECU remapped performance settings to match the cylinder head and exhaust upgrades Red Cylinder Head Cover Yoshimura Titanium Exhaust - Header Pipe and Silencer Hinson Clutch Basket and Cover Titanium Nitride-Coated lower fork legs AND YES they have Showa revalving Black Anodized Triple Clamps Rear Shock Shaft - larger diameter 18mm upgrade from 16mm on the 450R to hold the shock higher up the stroke AND a lighter steel spring over the stock 450R Twin Air Filter Throttle Jockey Graphics and Gripper Seat Cover Renthal FatBar and Kevlar Grips Dirt Star LT-X Rims - Lighter and stronger than the stock 450R RK Gold chain NOTE: the 2022 CRF450R and 450RWE have a newly engineered ECU and new Suspension Valving for better balance. Everybody Ride and have FUN!
honda is dropping the ball SO hard in their dirt bike and street bikes the last 5 years....they are the slowest in class by a large margin and shit like this...what a joke. used to be the in class leader all the time, what a let down by honda.
@@NickW90 i know the 450s are good, the its the 250s and the street bikes im talking about. the cbr 1000 is down like literally 30-40 hp from the competition. its honestly mind blowing how slow it is out of the box compared to all the other competition. the map sitiuation for this bike is completely easily fixable from the factory but they just dont care enough to do it. I used to ride only hondas but im just being real about the situation. they clearly dont care about their bikes like they used to. on top of that they just straight up abandon the 600 line for street....
