------------------------------------------------------
The T-15 #Armata (Russian: T-15 Армата), with industrial designation "Object 149", is a Russian heavy infantry fighting vehicle first seen in public (initially with its turret covered) in 2015 during rehearsals for the Moscow Victory Day Parade.
Type: Heavy #IFV
Place of origin: Russia
Used by: Russian Ground Forces
Weight: 48 tons
Armor:
Steel and ceramic composite
1,200-1,400 mm vs HEAT
Main Armament:
2A42 30 mm auto cannon with 500 rounds (AP/HE)
Secondary Armament:
7.62 mm coaxial PKT
Kornet-EM ATGM
Engine:
Multifuel diesel engine 1,500 hp
Payload Capacity: 9 infantry (+3 crew)
Transmission: automatic
Operational Range: 550 km (340 mi)
Speed: 65-70 km/h (40-43 mph) (road)
Armament:
The T-15 features the Bumerang-BM (Epoch) remote control turret with its 2A42 30 mm auto cannon, a 7.62 mm coaxial PKT and a bank of two Kornet-EM anti-tank guided missiles on both sides. Also in development is the AU-220M Baikal remote turret that features the AK-257 57 mm semi-automatic naval gun and the 9M120 Ataka anti-tank missile.
Mobility:
Like the T-14, the T-15 is based on the Armata Universal Combat Platform, but unlike the T-14 it has its engine in the front. It is powered by a new generation 1,500 hp multifuel diesel engine coupled with a hydro-mechanical automatic transmission, has a combat weight of about 48 tons, a maximum road speed of 65-70 km/h (40-43 mph), an operational range of 550 km (340 mi), and a power-to-weight ratio of over 30 h.p./t.
Protection:
Like the T-14, the T-15 is protected by reactive armour and the Afganit active protection system. While the T-14 has its Afganit launch tubes at the base of its turret, the T-15 has them arrayed along the top sides of its hull. It uses four soft-kill launchers to deploy smoke grenades that disrupt visual and infrared guidance systems, and five hard-kill launch tubes on top of the hull, compared to the T-14's ten hard-kill tubes on the turret which automatically turns to face a threat. The T-15 has "an unprecedented level of armor protection," including improved passive steel and ceramic composite plate armor and a slat armor cage at the rear. Its new Malakhit ERA is claimed to protect against ATGMs like the FGM-148 Javelin and Missile Moyenne Portée and 120 mm tank rounds like the German DM53/DM63 and American M829A3 APFSDS sabots. In addition to hard-kill and soft-kill APS, the developer uses a special paint that significantly reduces the vehicle's infrared signature. The floor is reinforced with an additional armor plate for counter-mine and counter-IED protection, and it has a jamming system to detonate radio-controlled anti-tank mines. The T-15 has an NBC protection system.

We are sure, that all the fans of #MilitaryWeapons will find here something related to their interests.

Russia is planning to separate the vehicles tech support from crew members and to establish some kind of 'technical support' military units. The 'Armata' platform crew members will be responsible only for the battle functions and for the military tasks. Some Russian military experts think this is a wrong decision, since according to the Russian tradition, crew members must know their tank and be capable to make it operational in any battle conditions without any external support at war time...

Why Russian Sweden? We have our own very big country. Your media constantly escalate fear of Russia and it's funny to look at, realizing how stupid it is.
5 лет назад
@@vycheslavgalaktionov9807 Short or long answer? I'd consider the politicians traitors, the EU a problem as far as sovereignty goes and the country invaded as is due to the massive immigration inflows regardless of how the people have felt about that whatever here in Sweden or in EU in general though Swedes typically is the most accepting and yet more Swedes has always wanted less immigrants than those who have wanted more.
5 лет назад
@@zmeyuga9083 Russia as likely aggressor or invader of Sweden or as liberator? You read "liberate Sweden" as in "invade Sweden" as in what USA do when they try to "free" people from whatever rule they didn't liked? I mean liberate. I don't mean "attack" though of course that's what it would involve now but possibly with different goals. I know Russia is large and have plenty of natural resources of it's own. The obvious easy to get asset of Sweden which Russia would be most likely to occupy and control is Gotland which Russia has already taken once and which sit nicely in the Baltic sea to say put US planes or ships at with or as say for instance aegis missile assets in a scenario where Russia for instance felt the urge/need to control the Baltic states. In Russia's case if they borrowed it and put S-400/S-500 systems on it that would at-least cover the Baltic sea in that region even more than Kaliningrad do already. Before it was like totally undefended and then they moved like 8 Leopard II tanks there. Maybe it have a bit more defense now but it's not like Sweden could prevent "borrowing" that island if Russia really wanted too and in such a conflict of course NATO likely wouldn't mind using that or say Karlskrona or whatever. If we look at it more long-term or for the country as a whole then Russia do have a problem with year-round ice-free ports where they do have St Petersburg but if NATO wanted to lock that down from Finland + Balt states or Sweden and Denmark or both that would of course be a problem. Taking the Baltic states wouldn't solve the later pair but taking Finland, Sweden and Norway would open up much more open coast areas which would be harder to block. The way I see if if I saw a Russian focused map it would also kinda look like Scandinavia was a "missing" area of a landmass which should kinda be the same / chained together. But I didn't mean for the advantage of Russia I meant for the advantage of my own people. I don't think taking Gotland would be anything weird at all. Totally plausible. But it wasn't what I originally discussed. Sweden kinda lack anti-air defense too except our own air force and while that will change by a bit what it will be changed to is super-expensive still very short-range Patriot so not really all that good. Or well, Sweden do have anti-air defense coverage but it's Russian S-400 systems in Kaliningrad which are covering Swedish air-space =P Personally I want Sweden out of EU and not a member of NATO and then have Nordic federation with Nordic + balt states outside of both sides as a neutral but strong enough zone which can rule itself. Nowadays even the libtard regressive left want us part of NATO though likely because then they can claim that we're making war in the middle-east and Africa and hence we have to accept to be flooded with immigrants.
@zmeyuga9083
@zmeyuga9083 5 лет назад
@ Emigrants are your choice. Your snot-nosed politicians are so eager to be kind to everyone that everyone around them loves except their own people. Capture part of Sweden in order to establish on its territory part of the defensive complex? Or I did not understand the meaning of your speech??? Russia has a DEFENSIVE strategy. We do not need foreign lands to establish the priority of offensive weapons, and it is more usual to defend on our territory. Or maybe you think it's a good idea to capture a part of a European country to establish defensive complexes??? This is a direct path to military conflict, that is, the idea itself is absurd. The only thing Europe needs to be liberated from is the us occupation. Your allies are building their military bases in Europe, threatening Europe with sanctions for cooperation with Russia, provoking military hysteria with exercises near the borders with Russia. That is, the Americans are doing everything as always, trying to quarrel different countries and still make money on it.

@qelleri
@qelleri 5 лет назад
T-15 is NOT supposed to replace the MT-LB. Russians are developing Kurganets-25 APC for that purpose. Also T-15 is replacing BMP-2 and 3 only in a limited fashion. T-15 is supposed to be the IFV for heaviest armoured units like the 4th Guards “Kantemirovskaya” Tank Division. Most Russian divisions and brigades will have their BMP's replaced by Kurganets-25 IFV. The hardkill footage shown in the video is not Afghanit, but old ARENA. Also neither the hardkill system nor ERA protects against top-attack missiles like Javelin and MMP. Protection is only for horizontal threats. Not vertical. In general T-15 is quite an impressive vehicle, especially if it gets the 57mm cannon. It is questionable though, what is the purpose of an IFV with MBT-level of protection? Is it really cost effective solution? T-15 is going to be just a specialized vehicle, produced in small numbers, if at all.

Era and aps protect vs top weapons. Armata aps also protects against sabot.
@qelleri
@qelleri 4 года назад
@@okakokakiev787 The APS grants only limited protection against top-attack-weapons. The soft-kill system can throw thermal smoke to hide the vehicle, but the hard-kill(Afganit) gives no protection against top-attack-weapons. Missile can hit the tank despite the smoke. Top mounted ERA is basically worthless against top-attack-missiles that are almost all tandem warheaded. Claiming that Afganit protects against sabot is very questionable. In theory it is possible, but due to the mounting and mechanics of the system I find it very hard to believe. Even if the counter-munition hits the incoming APFSDS, deflection is not guaranteed.

T-15 Armata vs puma ifv :D
@jonny2954
@jonny2954 5 лет назад
@LineOfCars Puma isn't in league Kurganets. It is almost as heavy as T-15, while having a much smaller internal volume.
@jonny2954
@jonny2954 5 лет назад
@LineOfCars Puma isn't capable of being transported by plane in its combat configuration. It needs to strip down around 12 tons of armor to be airliftable by an A400M. Any confirmation of T-15 behing heavier than an MBT? Most sources state it is in T-14 weight class, and at that weight no MBT level of protection is achievable for an IFV of that size. T-14 has to protect around 3 m³ of crew space at around 50 tons, but the T-15 has to protect atleast 14 m³ of crew space at around 50 tons. Puma has to protect just 9 m³ at 43 tons.
@jonny2954
@jonny2954 5 лет назад
@LineOfCars The T-15 doesen't have additional armor over the T-14. If you are referring to the wedge shaped armor arrays on the front, it isn't additional armor, but armor to make up for the lack of a large internal composite armor array like on the T-14 because that space is taken up by the engine. An IFV based on a MBT chassis doesen't necessarily have to better protected. Since, unlike on the Merkava/Namer, the T-15 can not carry over the frontal armor array of the T-14, because the hull is turned around, it doesen't share any of the armor, except maybe for the underbelly. Somethimes, a shared chassis can even bring disadvantages over purpose-build solutions. MBTs and IFVs have significantly different requirements on internal volume and layout. While a purpose build vehicle can be fully optimized for the one role it is going to have, a shared platform often has to face some tradeoffs, an example would be the badly surface-optimized geometry of the T-15 superstructure. T-14 and T-15 share the hull, not the armor.

Samsung makes military technology since it started producing electronics... Samsung also make their own military vehicles, for example the K9 Thunder. Samsung is a mass producer of wide variety of electronics from household to military so don't be surprised to see their logos in many of the vehicles. They make state of the art tech, so why not use it?

T-14 is the tank, T-15 is the IFV. Armata is just the name of the vehicle family.

T-14 is not accepted yet. First prototypes came only in 2015 if you forgot. For comparison at Soviet times post-war tanks accepted after up to 7 years. Developers create bunch of prototypes, with different characteristics and approaches, they are tested, selected best variants, then again tests, some kind of modifications, tests, modifications. It is long cycle which need years. This February developers said that all major modification for T-14 already done and fixed, it means left only minor things. So, tank almost close to accepting into army. At past times just nobody demonstrated new weapons, so they arrived from nowhere, nowadays you can see process of development. Same was with Su-57, if you investigate photos of it, you will see that they even had different planes! Developers selected best approach. P.S. Also, looks like you forgot, but it is weapons. It means production always classified (in 2016 american Defense Intelligence Agency reported, that Russian factories produce tanks in huge, but unknown amounts, maybe T-14 already in production, nobody know). Classical example is when european nazis attacked USSR. Hitler was sure that Russians almost have no tanks and aviation, so he planned to capture country until winter. As result only in first weeks he lost more weapons than during whole previous campaigns in Europe, until winter he lost almost all weapons which it had when started war. Surprise! Russians had thousands of tanks and aviation, just never mentioned about that. If enemy known amount of your weapons, then it already won half of battle.

Julia P. Thanks for the answer. I am now so smart like I was before. It is probably a matter of money with those weapons. Russia has a poor population. But thank you.

Renee Giese No, money have no matter. In Russia military industrial complex preserved communistic model, so a) it in state property b) produced everything internally. It means almost all money which state spent on weapons returned back to state. Nobody earn profit. It is why Russia with budget in tens times less than as example American (largest in world), produce the same or even more amount of weapons. As example modern programs of UAV drones. Russian S-70, the largest and heaviest military drone in world, cost of program near $23 millions. US had similar program, they developed smaller drone, cost of program $813 millions! Incredible difference, right? It is because in Russia it was developed and produced by state, while in US by private company Northrop Grumman (de facto they just stole most state money). Moreover, from this $23 millions most of money returned back to state, so real spendings only several millions. Similar situation in space industry. Americans each year spent money how Russia for 12-15 years! While Russian space/rocket program more developed. Else one real example: both countries developing new spaceships for Moon program. They are almost identical, American even a bit worst. But in Russia cost of program $800 millions, while in US $16 billions!

I didn't understand! Could you somehow translate?
@АндрейБолконский-б1о
@@matovicmmilan This platform as well as T14 was not initially taken into account for the basis, I mean, there is no sense in lowering a lot of money into thousands of such platforms, hundreds are enough to rationally coordinate and strengthen other types of equipment that form the basis (T-72B3 of 2016 sample or T90)
