The Yangana-Pe area located 45 km away from the Baydaratskaya Bay of the Kara Sea is a unique sacred place, the age of which is approximately 400 million years.
It is the place, where the northernmost cave in Eurasia and the northernmost karst lake in the world are located. According to the legend, this place originated from the tears of the deity, what adds special spiritual significance to it. The best time to visit Yangana-Pe is in summer or autumn, when the lake is not frozen and the caves are available for exploration. For those, who plan to stay overnight, it is recommended to take a tent, as the nearest populated area, Labytnangi, is 150 km away from here. The Yangana-Pe is also part of the Ingilor Nature Park. Work to study and restore rare animals and plants is held in the park.
