Anu Khatan was one of the most famous queens of Mongol history. She was a granddaughter of Ochirtu Setsen Khan and married prince Sengge, son of Erdene Baatar, regarded as the founder of Dzungar Khanate. After Sengge's assassination, she married Sengge's successor, his brother Galdan Boshigt Khan. Galdan Boshigt Khan relied on Anu khatan for counsil throughout his reign as he expanded Dzungar Mongol rule from the west end of the Great Wall of China to present-day eastern Kazakhstan, and from present-day northern Kyrgyzstan to southern Siberia. Fearing the rise of a new Mongol empire, the Qing dynasty sent three armies west towards Mongolia in 1696. In short, Anu Khatan lost her life in the battlefield against freaking manchus.
