The speaker confused the two, so let us set this straight: "Hindi" is a language, written in Devanagari alphabet, very close to Urdu which is written in modified Arabic alphabet. A "Hindu" is a follower of Sanatana Dharma. And no, the Hindus don't believe in אלף אלילים (a thousand idols). At the core of Sanatana Dharma lies the concept of Paramatman, an all-encompassing universal divine. Lastly, President Modi has dedicated his life to the betterment of India and done amazing work for India. He deserves praise.
