My sister got this movie for me at the movie store in the mall -Cinema One . It was at the library as well, and the dvd had English subtitles . It was fascinating as I watched this before ever going on utube. My preconceptions of Orthodox Judaism were fairly limited: Jewish children's story books with a Manhattan tenement flat, deli and shops, with a synagogue down the street. Cooking channels (rewatching Joan Nathan, Jewish cooking in America on utube gives me 90's nostalgia) ,and from Conservative Judaism I kinda got that they were the same ,but stricter version of Jewish,or more Talmudic. I knew they wouldn't drive their car on the Sabbath, brush their hair in case of a knot, rip things.... I had the (incorrect)idea they didn't like having pictures taken because they thought it was an 'image',not because they didn't want certain exposure, and at one time pictures of people weren't present in synagogues or old books. The first time I watched the movie I was glued to the subtitles, but after started to wonder what was typical of the Orthodox vs what was culturally Israeli.
excuse me, i love this movie's trailer so much but how can i find it , i have researched about Israel's history and completely admire about everthing you guys have done for your world, who can help me, give me a link to watch , please !
