the music is greatly enjoyable when you don’t know what’s going on, and it gets better as you develop an understanding and a stronger appreciation for the event and the music
Which God? Did you just band Christianity and are sending people to prison if they dare to. mention Jesus? All over the news. Why you envy his love and peace message so much???? Just curious. Plz explain so I can sing along you.
@@brugerper Men and women don't celebrate together or dance with each other at Orthodox and Hasidic weddings and are separated by a mechitza; in this clip, it's the large white curtain at the left of the frame and the women are on the other side of it. Not all mitzvah tantzes are the same: in many of them, the bride is the only woman in the portion of the room with all of the men (example: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k2hG3nNRVck.html) Have fun searching "mitzvah tantz" for a fuller definition of the term and to see how various Hasidim did theirs.
@Samuel Levy it's a pure discrimination of women for them, but the criticism against the ultraorthodox Jewish community and their habits would be worse.
@Samuel Levy yes, but other videos you can see the bride, she's on the dance floor. What group is this? Are they stricter? Do you know why some groups have a military part, with younger men in military, like from 1700s costumes?
This portion of an Hasidic wedding is called the mitzvah tantz; the groom and the fathers and grandfathers of the bride and groom dance towards and away from the bride (who is behind the white curtain in this particular clip) while also praying as a way to honor her and bless the marriage. This is one of the last portions of the ceremony, so the Premishlan Rebbe ('old man") might be tired...or just praying with his eyes closed. On a totally superficial and personal level, that seven-and-a-half minute "Ashreinu" and the Premishlan Rebbe's attractive assistants are a bonus.
@@mariaodonnell8220 Your comment was about the men dancing on the dance floor in the mitzvah tantz, so my response focused on them. Yes, congregations and other guests also attend, but won't be among the core participants in the mitzvah tantz.
