בא' כסלו תשפ"ד, 14.11.23, נפל סרן ידידיה אשר לב ז"ל בלחימה בעזה במלחמת חרבות ברזל. ידידיה הוא אחיה של טליה (לב) בנדרימר סקסופוניסטית ומורה למוזיקה, בוגרת החוג האקדמי להוראת מוזיקה במכללת גבעת ושינגטון.
עם פרוץ האסון בשמחת תורה, כתב המלחין דניאל גלאי שישה ניגונים המוקדשים ל 7.10. ניגון זה בחרה בתו, ד"ר רחלי גלאי, להביא לאנסמבל גבעת ושינגטון בהדרכתה עם תחילת הסמסטר בצל המלחמה.
האנסמבל שלח את צלילי הניגון לטליה לנחמה על האסון שפקד אותה ואת משפחתה ומכאן נולד פרויקט זה בו טליה מנגנת עם האנסמבל את הניגון.
ידידיה היה אדם ערכי, ישר, מחובר למשפחה, אוהב הארץ והמדינה. הוא זכה להיות נכד של ניצולי שואה ושל מקימי הארץ, ועוצמתם וערכיהם של הסבים והסבתות זרמו בדמו.
אנו מקדישים לו ניגון זה בהוקרה ובתפילה לנצחון במלחמה ולתקומת עם ישראל בארצו.

On 14.11.23 Captain Yedidia Asher Lev fell in the Battle in Gaza in the War of the Iron Swords. Yedidia is the brother of Talia (Lev) Bendrimer, a saxophonist and music teacher who graduated in music education from Givat Washington College in Israel.
With the outbreak of the catastrophe on Simchat Torah, composer Daniel Galay wrote six melodies dedicated to the war on October 7. This melody was chosen by his daughter, Dr. Racheli Galay, to teach to the Givat Washington Ensemble under her direction at the beginning of their studies in the shadow of war.
The ensemble sent Talia the sounds of the melody to comfort her over the misfortune that had befallen her and her family, and out of that came this project where Talia plays the melody with the ensemble.
Yedidia was a man of values and honesty who was devoted to his family and loved his country. He had the privilege of being the grandson of Holocaust survivors and founders of the country, and the strength and values of his grandparents flowed in his blood.
We dedicate this song to Yedidia in honor and prayer for victory in the war
and for the uprising of the people of Israel in his beloved land.
