Q1 Bildungsroman is class of novel that depicts and explores the manner in which the protagonist "Pip" develops morally and psychologically. life-changing events provide the catalyst for the development of Pip’s character from childhood, his adolescence, maturing into a social. Dickens’s style plot that while developing plot structure he, at the same times, externalizes the inner workings in Pip’s psyche. From his early boyhood Pip was good, gentle, and morally strong. He does not show any sign of villainy and notoriety at his boyhood. His conscience always keeps awake under the proper guidance of Joe and Biddy. He develops a strong moral sense and good values. However whenever he is forced to commit an evil deed or to tell a lie; he suffers a mental disturbance Q2 Pip, is greatly influenced by the identities that those around him expect him to take on, and by the expectations Pip has for himself. During the course of the novel, this was expressed by various symbols representing the many identities impressed on Pip during his childhood. From his unorthodox role of a “son” by many family, friends and people claiming to guard him, to societies opinion of him as both a boy and a gentleman, Pip takes on the responsibility of the many expectations that his class-oriented society imprints upon him as a young boy with ambitions. Pip must constantly reconsider the value of his different identities to choose what he wants to live with. Dickens believed and strongly insisted in his work Great Expectations, that crime was a result of poverty. When Pip becomes wealthy, he has to learn to perform a whole new identity, learning how to speak, dress, and even eat in ways that will be recognised by others. Miss Havisham is very wealthy but it is power and revenge that matter to her, not pleasure or self-fulfilment. Pip too gets little pleasure from his life as a wealthy young man in London.The feeling that his degrading and impoverished childhood will stain his whole life is one that he never loses. This is one reason that he behaves so badly. Once Pip has become ‘rich’, the certain people’s attitudes towards him transform. He is instantly shown immense respect from Pumblechook and the tailor. This demonstrates that because you have a wealthy status you immediately earn reverence and are assumed to more worthy. Over a period of time, Pip’s own attitude also begins to change. Joe is treated with condescension and disdain, however Joe has no expectations of gaining from Pip’s good fortune, now or at any other time; he is too and honest and straight. He expects nothing but what comes from his own efforts.Towards debt, Pip becomes unable to manage and maintain control of his ‘expectations’. Pip begins to treat Biddy as an inferior as he feels he is in a higher social standing. By doing this, Biddy’s feelings are hurt and she feels second-rate, as she is the only sensible and balanced influence in Pip’s life and she is rejected for Estella

وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله. اشكركم على السؤال. ملخص بمعنى الكلمه لايوجد عندي ! السبب ان ديكنز تكلم عن الإهمال التعليمي و تداعيات الغياب التام لاطار مؤسسي و هيمنه الدين أيضا على التعليم ، وأمور كثيرة لم اذكرها بالفيديو مثل الدراسة بالمدارس المسائية! ومشاكلها خاصة للبنات ، إلخ.... نعم بيب كان موجود وهو بطل الرواية لكن ديكنز استخدمه للتحدث عن أمور معقده بالمجتمع .📍كيف بدأ وايش درس ؟؟ بعد تعرضه لتعليقات مهينة من ستيلا ، بقرر بيب أنه يصبح رجل نبيل. كان هذا القرار يعني مرتبطًا في عقله ارتباطًا وثيقًا ( بالتحسين الفكري ! ) يعني وعيه المتزايد بجهله بالإضافة إلى رجعية نشأته قد ولّد فيه مشاعر عدم الرضا التي أدت إلى زيادة اصراره على التعليم و صعود السلم الإجتماعي والتخلص من خلفيته الفقيرة أيضا بفعل التعليم 📍اولا بمدرسه في محيط بيت اخته ، ولما انتقل على لندن كانت البدايه الفعليه لتعليمه .📍درس الحقوق لانه كان حابب انه يصير ⚖️ محامي . اولا من أجل المال ( لكي يصبح أغنى من ستيلا ) و أيضا بسبب الظلم والمعاناه منذ طفولته ، كان بده يساعد الناس بعلمه . اامل انه يكون في فائده من جوابي

Pip is showing reversals here too. He not only refuses any more of Magwitch's money, but he refuses any aid from Miss Havisham. Whatever happens now will be of his own making, a sure sign of growth. He has completed his efforts for Herbert, the only good thing he feels he has done with his money, and gives Miss Havisham the forgiveness she craves. He can do this having seen the hurts he has caused through his own sins in life .

Thank you for your question. The whole novel , not just the title my friend. Situational irony When something happens that the reader does Not Expect , for example : Pip’s Expectations are FALSE. Pip’s fortune hurts him instead of helping him !! Pip is convinced that it is Miss Havisham, even though it could not possibly be her. He thinks that she intends for him to marry Estella after he becomes a gentleman etc .. The sad irony of the title is that expectations are never great. A man is what he does. A man who expects to be given is a parasite and a fool. The title has something to do with the nature of Pip's perception of society. He comes from a poor blacksmith family and has these great expectations of what he's missing out on. As the book progresses these "great" expectations become less and less great to Pip

YES , Charles Dickens was most sympathetic to the poor, a class who was ignored by what he perceived as a frivolous upperclass who controlled all the wealth, these people sent their children to work as well. Throughout Great Expectations, Dickens explores the class system of Victorian society , ranging from the most wretched criminals (Magwitch) to the poor peasants of the marsh country (Joe and Biddy) to the middle class (Pumblechook) to the very rich (Miss Havisham). The theme of social class is central to the novel’s plot and to the ultimate moral theme of the book. Dickens wrote 'Great Expectations' because he wanted to expose the INJUSTICES of the class system and how hard life was for the poor in Victorian Society , his book portrays his dislike of a number of aspects of Victorian England. These include Child TREATMENT , POVERTY , AND EDUCATION . His concerns centre however on the class divide of Victorian Society and how difficult it was for a lower class person to become a gentleman (upper class). He makes points that the upper class treats the lower class badly and also shows that this is because the lower class works hard and toil whereas the upper class lie back and relax. He makes numerous points about the lack of good educations amongst the lower class. He shows this by Pips treatment by Estella. His novel shows the aspects of society that Dickens feels are negative. With his novel Dickens provided the ammunition for the growing movement for social reform to fire and begin an attempt to change Victorian England's society for the better

Yes it is , because Pip's great expectations end up coming from somewhere he never imagined , because he ends up with nothing in a material sense ( Not money). His expectations are turned on their head when he finally finds the truth, and he finds rewards in places he had previously disregarded.

نعم تُستخدم ليس فقط للمُعاقبة البدنية ، بل العاطفية أيضا . يعني السيدة جو بتعتبر بيب عبئاً عليها . لكن أمام الجيران والناس طبعاً هي اختارت ألا تتركه في الشارع وتبنته و ربته بنفسها ، فكانت محبوبة . Originally 'by hand' meant nursed by someone other than ones biological mother , not necessarily by bottle. But Dickens is making a bit of use of amphiboly . By hand mean something special and Dickens is making a play on words to the effect that 'by hand' evokes using her hand corporally against him . Pip invokes his elder sister’s saying , “ raised by hand ” an expression suggestive of bottle-feeding and surrogate motherhood as a mantra for the beatings he receives from her . Here , in the literal interpretations of his child-mind , in the painfully sweet way he misperceives the world , Pip draws us to his side

1/ Regarding Mrs Joe , no I don’t because she continually makes Pip feel guilty for living when the rest of the family, their parents and five brothers, are lying in the churchyard . She makes him feel guilty for just about everything he does , and she emphasizes her point by beating him with a switch that is named the Tickler ! Tickler represents the corporal punishment meted out to children . However , Mr. Joe is Hard working , honorable , loyal , and fair , he has strong hand , quiet tongue , and gentle heart . He takes responsibility for himself and consciously chooses his actions . He is not ruled by passion or illusion . Joe is the moral center. Pip struggles to be good , Joe merely is obedient by nature without apprehending it. Although Joe is not prosperous or knowledgeable , he still offers what he does know and have , to Pip . Joe provides a perfect example of however one conducts oneself in life , one's good nature always asserts itself at the end . With Joe's humane intellect , he is like a father to Pip- giving him guidance , informing him what is respectable and what is erroneous- it is his humanity that makes him incredibly generous and forgiving 2/ Personally , the Family Although Pip and Estella both grow up as orphans, family is an important theme in the novel. Pip grows up with love and support from Joe, but fails to see the value of the unconditional love Joes gives him. He eventually reconciles with Joe after understanding his errors. Estella is exposed to damaging values from her adopted mother, Miss Havisham, and gradually learns from experience what it actually means to care about someone. For both characters, learning who to trust and how to have a loving relationship with family members is a major part of the growing-up process .

Stella is important. But Biddy, is also not less important from moral point of view. She was an orphan, like Pip, and they are about the same age. Her influence is more admirable than Estella. Biddy is always pleasing to Pip whereas, Estella is always tormenting to him. After the meeting with Estella Pip becomes ambitious, whereas from Biddy he gets practical preparation for his future life. Biddy was listener and care taker. Estella can't return true emotions.

They lived on the streets and were far from the work they could get, so they would have to walk Long distances every day . The Aristocracy or wealthy class/ like Miss Havisham Middle Class and Working class / like Joe and Biddy 🛑 Charles Dickens was one of the first English novelists. By using his writings as a means to defend the vulnerable people of the Victorian Era, and criticize the societal structure of the time, he was also a huge contributor to several important social reforms. His novel Great expectations describing the corruption of the politics and justice system. He raise awareness of the plight of the poor in England. Suddenly, an escaped convict springs up from behind a tombstone, grabs Pip, and orders him to bring him food and a file for his leg irons. Pip obeys, but the fearsome convict is soon captured anyway. اوكيه...رواية حديثه.....لو انا مكانك البحث بكون عن رواية Friend Request للكاتبه Laura Marshall عملت ضجه بأنجلترا , و انطبع منها اكتر من 400 الف نسخه , لانه ما في اي شخص اليوم مابيعرف شو يعني طلب صداقة وانترنت , انعملت فيلم و وعت كتير من فئه الشباب لانه كان فيها موت واختفاء والوجه الآخر من عالم الانترنت ....و غير انه رواية هذا الموضوع يوجد اله مئات المراجع فأتوقع حيكون اختيار جيد ......او كمان خيار لنفس الكاتبه Three Little Lies شهر 6 من عام 2018 يعني جديده , بصراحة ماعندي عنها فكره حتى الان على فكره هاي الكاتبه عاشت و درست في سسكس مدينة كنت الانجليزية نفي مكان اللي كنا بنحكي عنه في هذا الفيديو آمال عظيمة عشان هيك اجت عطول ببالي لورا مارشل

أهلاً ساره . بالنسبه لأورليك ، هو شخص غير جدير بالثقة ، خبيث ، بحب أذية الناس ، شخصية معقده تميل إلى الجنون . كان عمره ٢٥ عام يعني أكبر من بيب ، ومن لما كان بيب صبي صغير كان يخوفه ويحكيله انا الشيطان Orlick always wants to have whatever Pip has . For example , when Pip asks for holiday , Orlick insists he should have one too . فكان يغار منه ، من ايام وهو يعمل بالحداده مع جو . بعد ما خسر وظيفته ، عمل كبواب في قصر مس هافشم ، وبرضو ما خلص من بيب هناك !! كان يكرهه لدرجه لما قتل مسز جو قال انه هذا ذنب بيب . بالنسبه لسؤالك عن الادلة : هو نفسه اعترف وقال لبيب انا قتلتها ، لما استدراج بيب من لندن إلى كِنت ، بعدين حبسه اخبره الحقيقه وكاد انه يقتل بيب أيضا ولكن ساعدوه الناس ، وهرب وتم القبض على اوريك لاحقاً . لو مات بيب بوقتها لكان الرواية انتهت خلاص ! من الجرائم اللي قام بها اورليك أيضا ، اهتمامه رومنسياً و جنسياً في Biddy وهي فتاه يتيمه أيضا متل بيب وطيبه جدا ، كانت ترعى مسز جو بعد حادثه الاعتداء ، لأنه اصبحت عاجزه لفتره قبل موتها . وكمان سرق السيد بمبليشوك . بالنهاية أو الخلاصه .... لولا مرض اورليك العقلي ، يعني لم تكن لتحدث كل هاي الأحداث المهمه . هناك تحليل متقدم و عميق نوعاً ما ، بقول انه : حرية بيب اصلا جاءت بعد أو بسبب قتل اخته جو !! لأنه لو عاشت لما استطاع انه يكمل أحلامه ، لأنها كانت دائما تنتقده بسلبيه وبعنف . فمرات ديكنز بعمل امر محزن برواياته لمصلحه شخصيه أخرى
