But even in today's world, or today's "scientific" knowledge, we're incapable in understanding the human consciousness, and the ethical and moral thinking. The gitas may seem useless or completely unrelated to you in today's world now, yet the boundaries of human mind is consciously written in these texts. That's what we mostly need now, even if how far we go, we come back at our own fate.
Now I will not buy Ashtavakra Gita, but try to imbibe your lecture that will be most useful to you.Thank you Professor saheb your lectures are so simple and clear.
Astavakra gita jesa secret, direct straight forward "Brahma gyan" Luckiest person ke liye hi hai or baki log unlucky hai, kisiko milte nehi, kisiko milte hai samajte nehi.
It has also been published by Shambhala Publications(US) tranlated by Thomas Byrom, underthe title "The Heart of Awareness". I benefitted most from listening to Oshos discourses in Hindi, while holding the RKMission text in my hands. Good luck
Ashtavakra gita is a bit more advanced than bhagwad gita in some sense (or another way of saying it is that its for more spiritually advanced seekers) and it was revealed to janaka who was already a mumukshu unlike arjun who was in initial state of seeking (when thoughts arise as doubts), mumukshu whereas is someone who has passed that stage and is ready to just listen(completely) and recieve the teaching directly about reality of True self hence he was more advanced spiritually than Arjun, bhagwan Sri krishna also tried to teach him(Arjuna) directly as well in first few chapters of jnana yoga but arjun didn't understand it lol so bhagwan Sri krishna was forced to go to Karma yoga, bhakti yoga, raja yoga etc(these yogas are of different paradigms which please to different people hence it became more popular, but bhagwan also tried to teach the highest teaching of jana yoga about who am 'I' to arjun first, it's another thing that he wasn't able to get it and hence bhagwan krishna had to talk to him about other non direct , but as effective yogas, and hence bhagwan's gita appeals to all people) whereas ashtavakra stuck to monotonic jnana yoga the direct teaching of who am 'I' all throughout coz janaka was much more perceptive and stable to direct teaching of jnanayoga that's my point of view , guru ji parnam🙏
@@adityalocopilotecorly6111 it is very very hard to explain but I will try my best, the mind is an entity which have tendency to stick to multiplied duality of objects of this world, once it gets attached to objects of the world in form of clinging to perception of its own thoughts about objects in world then by the very virtue of this clinging to duality gets a separate existence of subject which percieves the objects which are different from it and then it thinks of itself as doer of actions, this sense of doership is 'I'. I cry, I was angry , I had this lust etc.... This sense of I is same for every conscious being. The jnana yoga is basically getting to the source of this 'I'. It's basically meditation but not raja yoga as in jnanayoga the one who is meditating is meditated upon, subject meditates on subject, mediator doesn't meditate on an object hence this is non dualistic and direct (god's concept in mind can also be viewed as an object from this point of view hence even god exists in duality). Now the motive of this is.. the subject or 'I' which gets attached to many objects of dualistic world (which are in reality not different from subject's own true nature) must find its own source directly and once it percieves only itself without any object to cling to then this false sense of 'I' gets dissolved( that's nirvana or moksha) because this sense of 'I' was false all along and could only exist as long as it borrows existence from the objects of world(which is nothing apart from one's own true self, now sankhya talked about 2 realities the world(prakriti) and purusha, adi Shankaracharya denied the prakriti and called it illusion (but in sense of falsity - it appears to brahman(he called purusha this) as it's own appearance like an illusion but only brahman exists which is unmamanifested and unborn and exists before, during and after the appearance exists and ceases to exist and that's is the reality of everyone, the Individual sense of 'I' percieved in this appearance by conscious being based on perception of duality is false), whereas gautam buddha called the purusha as false talked about no self or anatman and said that only the world exists as one single reality which is transient, dynamic, changing, momentary , non static , have Interdependence of entities and is finally realised to be empty. (Basically he didn't say that emptiness is the reality as he was silent when asked about reality, he just said don't think about God, atma etc just percieve this world and know it to be empty and one day you will find your own true quality and the world's true quality as nothing other than the quality less and attribute less emptiness.) But if one introspects carefully he will realise both of them just talked about non duality as truth from opposite standpoint. Shankaracharya called world as a temporary appearance of Brahman appearing to itself. And that brahman is true 'I' beyond the false appearance, and is one's true self. Hence the world is false and brahman is real. This is how he went about the non dualitistic truth keeping intact god concept(and all other concepts of Upanishads) but just as an appearance of Brahman. Buddha who came before shankara went about this non dualistic truth in a different way so first he had to deny the concept of atman, purusha etc then he said about world as being only reality, then he said that world is actually empty and the individual I is also empty in reality hence again reaching to the same conclusion in terms of non duality but in a completely different way. ) Mahayana buddhism and Advait vedanta are actually much more similar than different it's only that the point of view changes drastically, Shankara says a is real , b is just an appearance of a, so first complete negation of b is done(including one's individual I ) with help of a and b is finally seen as false. But still not b isn't percieved as a as it will still be within maya/illusion but it is known for a fact that only a exists which is unmamanifested and unborn and such that reality a !=not b, or a is separate from all of b and not b, but appearance of b in duality still continues outside of samadhi, then second step is done in which b which was negated is now percieved from POV of a the supreme state and is seen as nothing but a ,which wasn't the case before doing step one first.Hence truth is finally realised as non dual which is one's true self and non duality is established. Budhha says there is no a and says it is actually empty hence introduces reality as e st, not a is e . Then he says b is in itself empty but is percieved hence again one does complete negation of b(including one's individual I ) and gets not b which is not yet e,not b !=e yet , he then in second step says, that which was negated , the b is in itself empty from POV of e hence b is then seen as nothing but empty or e . Hence only e exists and b is in itself nothing but e hence non duality is established. Hence both say about the truth of non duality in different ways but they are 'pointing to' same non duality as truth. Both of them use meditation and other methods(raja yoga or vipassna,Karma yoga or rightful action, tantra etc as secondary help) Now concept of God is a complete shift in paradigm it's an intermediate entity introduced to make things easier but only if one can do complete surrender to god which is as hard as enquiry about nature of Self, no self, atman, anatman, brahman, shunya etc so in bhakti yoga the entity introduced is a third entity g, the god, the form of Brahman with infinite attributes, in this paradigm the desires, thoughts etc that go to the multiple objects of world all of it is directed to g alone. One loves, cry, lusts but not for objects of world anymore but for g. But this method accepts duality at it's core, in devotee and his lord. So the final barrier is to establish non duality between the individual self I and brahman with infinite attributes god g. So aim is direct but notice it is not so simple anymore. In jnanayoga paradigms of mahayana buddhism or Advait vedanta the individual self was included in b was negated along with all of b in first step itself( the difficulty was in second step which was then solved by establishing samadhi into sahaj samadhi.). But in the god paradigm , I remains after first step along with g as devotee and lord (the objects of world are indeed given up no doubt) So real difficulty arises in second step in which one needs to establish nirvikalp samadhi which merges the individual self and brahman with infinite attributes into non duality. In this paradigm though one can talk about what is to be done on second step since god is not void of attributes ( like in jnana yoga based paradigms brahman is or shunyata is) but have infinite attributes, it's basically Bhakta merging into his lord Krishna by complete surrender to him alone. But to do it one requires complete surrender basically only g should remain all the time, and 'I' has to be forgotten completely hence one needs to live for krishna and for him alone, needs to do all actions as an act of worshipping lord Krishna, clearly the devotee can't establish nonduality by negating g, the lord hence he has to negate I , himself, to a point that only g remain that's complete surrender or bhakti then after that the g is to be realised as being both having infinite attributes and being without form, attributes and unmanifest.
