It is called Laadi and not ladi? Laadi means a tile, a tile of pavs( i.e many pav together)

Thank for this lovely recipe for paav. A small aside, it is laadi (लादी) pav, laadi being the marathi word for tiled floor or stone slabs. Also it would have been better if you had torn open a pav to show its inner texture. The pavs in Mumbai have a lovely stretchy pull while others just break open, are just like bread, not at all the same texture. r

You are so right and apart from that they are neutral in taste but the paav that you get in other states, the ones in packets are sweet 😣. It's so disappointing to not find the right paav anywhere but mumbai.

My feelings exactly. Paavs esp. in Delhi NCR are just like buns or dinner rolls at best, not at all like our Mumbai paavs. You are spot on about their taste. The faux pav one gets here are sweetish indeed. Also they are heavier than Mumbai paavs which are so light and clean-tasting.
