कुञ्जन नंबियार एक प्रसिद्ध मलयालम कवि और कलाकार थे, जिन्हें " तुल्लल" नामक कला रूप के जनक के रूप में जाना जाता है। उनका जन्म 18वीं सदी में केरल के एक गरीब परिवार में हुआ था। बचपन से ही उनका जीवन कठिनाइयों से भरा था, लेकिन उनकी रचनात्मकता और हास्यबोध ने उन्हें एक अनोखा स्थान दिलाया।
कुञ्जन नंबियार ने कुछ समय के लिए धर्मराजा के दरबार में सेवा की। दरबार में उन्हें बहुत कम भोजन मिलता था, जिसे उन्होंने अपने अद्वितीय अंदाज में प्रकट किया। एक दिन, उन्होंने एक दुबली गाय की ओर इशारा करते हुए राजा से कहा कि यह गाय भी उसी तरह का भोजन प्राप्त कर रही है जैसे वे। राजा ने उनके हास्य में छिपे संदेश को समझा और इसके बाद दरबारियों को अच्छा भोजन देना शुरू कर दिया।
हालांकि कुञ्जन नंबियार राजा के दरबार में रहना पसंद नहीं करते थे, लेकिन उनकी आर्थिक स्थिति इतनी खराब थी कि उन्हें वहीं रहना पड़ा। उनके तुल्लल पाट्टू कला रूप ने उन्हें व्यापक पहचान दिलाई। इस कला के माध्यम से उन्होंने समाज में सुधार लाने की कोशिश की। उनकी रचनाओं में व्यंग्य और सामाजिक आलोचना का अनूठा मिश्रण था, जो आज भी लोगों को प्रेरित करता है।
Kunjan Nambiar was a renowned Malayalam poet and artist, known as the creator of the art form "Thullal." He was born in the 18th century in Kerala into a poor family. His childhood was filled with hardships, but his creativity and sense of humor earned him a unique place in society.
Kunjan Nambiar served for a time in the court of Dharmaraja. He received very little food there, which he cleverly pointed out. One day, he pointed to a lean cow and remarked to the king that the cow was receiving the same kind of food as he was. The king understood the humor in his remark and thereafter ensured that the courtiers received better food.
Although Kunjan Nambiar did not like being in the king's court, his dire financial situation forced him to stay there. His art form, Thullal Pattu, gained widespread recognition. Through this art, he aimed to bring about social reform. His works are a unique blend of satire and social criticism, which continue to inspire people even today.
