Hello Friends, did you know that football which was once not even played in india, was started playing during the British rule has now become the second most loved and watched game of India? Yeah!! But this journey wasn't very easy. Indian footballers had to go through a lot including Sunil Chhetri literally pleading Indians to come to the stadium and watch them play. Firstly, you are categorizing India with teams like Japan, Australia etc, they are in round of 16 in the world cup right now. Even USA and Canada who are not even serious about football are a challenging teams in the world cup. Being equally good as france in the 1950s shows that we are not lacking physically. 1983 marked a turning point in our sports history, it came as a boon and bane for us. I would trade two cricket World Cups anyday for India's regular appearance in football World cups.
