इतना ज्यादा विवाद नही था, गावस्कर की कप्तानी मे 1985 मे भारत ने Bensin and Hedges World Series Trophy जिती और इस Tournament मे कपिल ने बहुत ही शानदार प्रदर्शन किया था।
1987 के सेमीफाइनल भारत और इंग्लैंड के मैच में गावस्कर ने सिर्फ चार रन बनाए थे उस मैच में मुंबई के कई खिलाड़ी थे जो ठीक से नही खेले थे । जिसके कारण भारत वह मैच हार गया । और कपिलदेव को कप्तान से हटा दिया गया था ।
Gavaskar got a beauty at the very start of Indian innings in that semifinal from Defraitas which swung in sharply from outside off stump to bowl him. In cricket sometimes a batsman hits a great bowler for six off a good ball. Same way he can get un unplayable delivery beginning of innings. In that semi final match was in India's control. I remember just 85 needed at one stage off 17 overs 5 wickets left and Kapil Azhar on the crease. Hardly a steep target these two should have easily got it knocking around without risks without lofted shots. But what happened? That shot in the air by Kapil Dev for which there was no need changed the game completely.
@@kailashnathverma831 As I said in my post, Kapil and Azhar when together in middle needed only 85 in 17 overs. With such easy asking rate NO lofted shots were needed. It was Kapil's dismissal on a needlessly risky shot (previous ball he had got a four) that brought England back into the match.

Kapil Dev is a very open heart person.kuch bhi dil mein nahi rakhta.He is a true gentlemen and always played for country.While there are legends which play for their self achievement. I like veeru yuvraj , Gautam , ganguly always played for country.

Gavaskar के लिए मेरे दिल में बहुत सम्मान रहा है पर १९८७ में सेमीफ़ाइनल में वो जिस प्रकार चार रन पर आउट हुए उससे मुझे गावस्कर पर बहुत दुःख हुआ था क्योंकि उस समय टीम को उनकी बहुत ज़रूरत थी। इससे लगता है कि कोई देश के लिए नहीं केवल अपना record बनाने के लिए खेलते हैं।

In Kolkata test against Gower 's English team Azharuddin had made his debut and scored his first test century and there was no looking back for him afterwards. Kapok Dev is selfless brilliant all rounder who played for his country. He never chased records. Gavaskar quite the opposite. He was a very good batsman but was selfish and played for himself and not for the country. They both will carry their legacy. Kapil will have his heads high all the time.
Sunny Bhai is just a cricket player but not a humanism & respect for all faith and believe & not honour for his own cricket growing stars...like Kapil sir.....!!!! he was not a good human being & not much more done for Indian cricket just played for himself not for country...ok
Gavaskar looks absolutely ri8, I mean if board can change the captaincy 12times in 10 yrs.. How can captain have right to drop one player completely? That was not modern cricket. That time even captaincy was not secured.
What ever controversy was there but gavaskar was responsible For kapil sacking in calcutta test then. However kapil was a Great all-rounder clicker of India. India could never produce a 2nd kapil in last 50 yrs. Kapil rightly made indian cricketer Of century by icc. And the trophy was handed over by Sir viv regards.
Kapil is the real hero of Indian cricket, whereas Gavaskar was just a good player playing for his records and was fully supported by the Maharashtra lobby in the BCCI..

Dinesh, Gavaskar was good test match batsman.In ODI Gavaskar was not good batsman except a century against New Zealand in 1987 World Cup.There are 4 marathi teams : Mumbai, Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Baroda.So Maharashtra will never favour Gavaskar.

In those days India was not having fast bowlers and good solid batsman apart from Gavaskar.Then in 1978 Vengserkar joined.Vishwanath was fast scorer.Mohinder Amaranth ,while batting used to get many blows on various parts of body.Mohinder Amaranth was a courageous batsman.
