Synopsis - Johny Mera Naam is a 1970 crime thriller film, starring Dev Anand, Pran, Hema Malini, Jeevan, Premnath and others. Two sons of a police inspector are into boxing. Their father is killed by a criminal. Years later one son goes on to become a CID officer who solves his cases by taking up different guises. He takes the identity of Johny, a petty thief and gets himself arrested. In jail he befriends a criminal who is his resource to find the main criminal.

The screen explodes when PRAN appears. It is impossible to name ten , fifty , hundred best moviies and roles of Pran because he was best in every film and role. None can excel Pran in devotion , style and mannerism. Saint at the core , he played extreme devil in hundreds of films. An unforgettable actor and thorough gentleman . We shall always miss him .

It was released in my college days. Lighthouse happened to be one of the cinema halls. My friend and myself bunked class and reached the hall. The crowd in front of the hall was so huge that it discouraged us immensely. Anyway we managed to get tickets and saw the movie. Since then it has never failed to draw my attention, whenever I get a chance to view it - be it on television or any other medium. Totally engrossing due to its story, script, dialogue , superb acting, locales , scenic beauty.

All time favourite movie of all most all cinema lovers. Even after so many years still it appeals the audience to see it again n again. From all angles of film making it is perfect movie covering entire gumut of life. Only genius like Goldie can do it. Here I like to make unusual comment many have noted but rarely mentioned. That is just minus two artists namely Premnth n Jeevan and imagine who could hv done those characters so effectively n lifted the movie to that height it is still today. After this movie Premnath career took new turn n Jeevan sahab got the recognation which was long due that he is a actor of highest order.
