Nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshiped in the 9 day holy festival of Navratri. Chandraghanta form of Maa Durga is worshiped on the third day of Navratri. This form of Durga Maa is the ultimate peace and welfare. She has a crescent shape on her forehead. That is why this form of mother bhagwati is called Chandraghanta. In this form, her color is golden and she has ten arms. Goddess Chandraghanta holds a trident, mace, arrow, bow, sword, lotus, goat, bell and a kamandalu (vessel of water) in nine arms, and with the tenth hand she blesses her devotees. The vehicle of mother Chandraghanta is Lion. This shows that Adi Shakti can be terrible towards her enemies but at the same time having compassion and affection for her devotees.
