I don't know whether that's the same or not, there is something similar made in Shaktigarh town in West Bengal, known as Lengcha... But I think Lengcha is made from chhena, not mawa...

@@neelukampani6548 no they will not absorb syrup made of jaggery since syrup made of jaggery becomes thick and also it becomes difficult for gulab jamuns to absorb them
