Synopsis - Dushman is a 1971 Indian Hindi-language film produced by Premji and directed by Dulal Guha. It is based on a novel by Virendra Sharma. The film stars Rajesh Khanna in the title role and for which he received a Filmfare nomination as Best Actor, the only nomination for the film. Meena Kumari, Mumtaz, Bindu, Rehman, Asit Sen and Johnny Walker are part of the cast.
This film was made in Tamil as Needhi in 1972, in Telugu as Khaidi Babai (1974), in Malayalam as Maattoly in Kannada as Hosa Theerpu (1983) and in Bengali as Nishpap Asami (1997) .

आज जून 2024 मे इस फ़िल्म को देखा। सच मे अच्छी फ़िल्म है। आज ज़ब ये फ़िल्म इतनी अच्छी लगी तो ज़ब रिलीज हुई होगी तब तो दर्शक पूरी फ़िल्म रोते हुए देख रहे होंगे। मीणा कुमारी को जानबूझकर लिया गया है। क्योंकि उनका रोल बस एक ही अभिनेत्री कर सकती थी वो थी बस मीणा कुमारी और कोई नहीं। बाकि सभी कलाकारों मे जान डाल दी फ़िल्म मे। उस ज़माने मे भी काफ़ी धूम मचाई थी इस फ़िल्म ने। कभी देखी नहीं थी ये फ़िल्म लेकिन इच्छा बचपन से थी मेरे बचपन से। और मेरी उम्र कितनी है 50😊

Wonderful film. I saw this film when I was in 7th grade and I remember crying the whole time. It was such an emotional film. Now decades later I cried again watching it. Such a beautiful film. It was a hit movie of its time. What great gems of those days are in this movie like; Meena Kumari Ji, Leela Mishra Ji, Rehman Ji, Abhi Bhattacharya Ji, Johnny Walker Ji, Anwar Hussain Ji, Asit Sen Ji, Kanhaiya Lal Ji, Rajesh Khanna Ji, Bindu Ji, Mumtaz Ji, Naaz Ji. It was a real treat to watch it again. Thank you.

After a night of heavy drinking, truck driver Surjit Singh (Rajesh Khanna) accidentally runs over a farmer. Sentenced by the judge to look after the dead man's relatives, Surjit is greeted with anger by neighboring villagers on his way to their land. Upon his arrival, he is introduced to the whole family, including Ganga Din (Nana Palsikar), the farmer's father, his widow, Malti (Meena Kumari), and her two children. Despite their initial hatred for him, the family grows fond of repentant Surjit.
