If one watches this movie closely, notice that the camera angle was mostly focused on the height of Bachahan. Hrishikesh Mukherjee's second film with Bachahan, the first one was Anand. After Namak Haram, Bachchan was Hrishikesh's favorite actor. But credits go to Prakash Mehra and Salim-Javed who made Bachchan the "Angry Young Man".

After this movie zanjeer movie was released but already Amitabh had showed in this movie glimpses of angry young man personality this was just a sample but the real angry young man look came through zanjeer movie even superstar Rajesh khanna after seeing Amitabh acting in this movie knew that he would over take him and would become no.1superstar of bollywood so after this movie Rajesh khanna never acted with Amithabh and after zanjeer movie released and Amitabh when he became angry young man the title given to him by his fans across india then rest was history an era where only love romance and family drama movies were coming more and all the star actors of bollywood were doing those kind of jonar movies that is love romance and family drama kind of movies and audience were bored of those kind of movies then Amitabh came and changed the whole era today people say mass audience and mass hero the inventer of mass audience and mass hero was Amitabh bachchan the legend who cannot be replaced by any one

That was the era when Rajesh khanna was the main lead and Amitabh the second fiddle. Hence, Rajesh got meatier role. After this movie Amitabh came on top, not because of this movie, but Zanjeer & Deewar released. Both performed their best since in real life both of them were opposite. Rajesh khanna was very arrogant and head weighted, as per his co-stars and other people from film fraternity. Amitabh on the other hand remained very humble all his life and even continuing until now. One of the reason while when Amitabh plunged into bankruptcy and he stood up and came right on top again. From Angry young man to gentle old man.

This movie was a era of borders of superstars Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan. After this movie Amitabh was going higher and higher and Rajesh khanna was going down as superstars.

Mr.Rajesh Patel, RK relied upon Hrishikesh Mukherjee bliendly and didn't know what length of role and number of scenes given to AB. RK was doing dozens of films that time and had no idea what was happening with him. It was planned and plotted to down RK as he reached "Super stardom" in just 3 years which no other actors prior to him could achieve even after 15 years. RK was already a Superstar then and AB was a underdog then. RK's abilities as an actor was already known to audience but AB's talent was unknown. So with a length of role and more screen space overall in d film brought him into d limelight. This is not to take away any credit away from AB. In one of his interviews, AB confessed that he was like a man without any eyes until he got "Namakharaam "(1973). and by doing this film ,he got one eye by having a number of scenes with a superstar like RK and another eye from a renowned director like Hrishikesh Mukherjee. I think you and other viewers would agree.

This is one of the immortal movies of Hindi Cinema. The intensity of acting of Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan is unparalleled. Perhaps only another film has similar intensity i.e. "Anand". Incidentally both these are the only films where they came together. Every time I see these movies my eyes brim with tears. Heartfelt gratitude and salute to the creators of these two jewels.🙏

Rajesh khanna was the only star who didn't bow before anyone this was accepted by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. Aanand is the movie which only Rajesh khanna can do. Amitabh change the family and social values to crime and anger due to enemity of Salim Javed with Rajesh khanna increasing popularity. A lot of difference one who gave to society and other the Don culture.

One gave an example of a good family one gave an bad example of a irregular & indeciplined family life..one gave Movies like abhiman,chupke chupke,Mili,kabhi kabhi,bagban,paa,black, silsila, pink,do ANJANE,kasme vaade,Namak haram dry soft & beutifulmovies...Entertaining movies like Amar Akbar Anthony,Satte pe satta, Some immortal movies like sholay,Deewar,Trishul etc.etc.In this movie namakharam Big B totally stole the show..Rajesh was a good actor but totally typed & 50% depending on kishoreda. Bachchan multitalented still not out.longest carrier of any actor star..Rajesh also tried in Don culture movies but totally failed..
