NB lopchan - Pun haru Magar hun, Magar ko darma Hindu ho. Hindu pahila Shamanism/Animist /ancestor worshipping manthe. Buddhism le Magar/Rai/Limbu lai kahile pani chuana. Gurung/Tamang/Thakhali ani aru Bhutia tribe chahi Bon Buddhist ho. Sabai adibasi haru lai tapai le Buddhist ho vanna galat ho. Thank you.🙏🏼
We have to come to conclusion that are we magars are Buddhist or Hindu? The Magar association is confusing me now. If we supposed to fallow Buddhism then how is it our culture to sing a Krishna charitra because Krishna is a Hindu god. Or they have say and accept we are same but we share diverse culture and religion but we are still the same.
Solaris_ Eclipse - Brother, Magars along with Rais and Limbu were never touched by Buddhism. We converted to Hinduism when our Kings became Thakuris and defender of Hinduism. The Magar people themselves are in reality nominal Hindus. We don’t wear janai, we eat pork and our form of Hinduism is mixed with our ancestral religion and beliefs. Gurungs/Tamangs/Thakali and other Bhutia tribes were Bon Buddhist before. Our ancestor’s religion were Shamanism/Animism/Ancestor worshipping. Hence we don’t have Lama in our thar(cast) just like the Rais and Limbus who were Kiratis. It’s a false assumption to proclaim every janajati of Nepal were Buddhist. We were never Buddhist and it’s wrong of the Magar association to assert this on us because history/facts and evidence doesn’t cooperate with their mad ledaydibbi(like typical Magars) claims. Hope this was help to your confusion and thank you.🙏🏼
