Welcome to my Nepal travel vlog, where I take you on a journey to the famous Bindhyabasini temple located in the beautiful city of Pokhara. This is my second vlog of my Nepal trip, and I am excited to showcase this amazing temple to you.
My friend Ramesh and I decided to explore the temple on foot, as it was only 2-3 km away from our hotel. Walking allowed us to explore the area in a more intimate way, and we were able to see other important places along the way.
The Bindhyabasini temple is a popular Hindu temple that is dedicated to the goddess Bhagwati, who is believed to be an incarnation of the Hindu goddess Shakti. The temple is located on a hilltop and provides a stunning panoramic view of Pokhara's scenic beauty.
As we entered the temple premises, we were welcomed by the aroma of burning incense and the sound of bells ringing. The temple complex is beautifully designed with intricate carvings and traditional Nepali architecture.
The main shrine houses the idol of Goddess Bhagwati, which is beautifully adorned with flowers and ornaments. Devotees come here to offer their prayers and seek blessings from the goddess. The temple is particularly busy on Tuesdays and Saturdays, which are considered auspicious days.
Apart from the main temple, there are several smaller shrines dedicated to other deities such as Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesha, and Lord Hanuman. The temple also has a large pond, which is believed to have healing powers.
It is worth mentioning that newlywed couples often visit the Bindhyabasini temple to seek the blessings of the goddess for their new phase of life. The temple is considered to be auspicious for such occasions, and it is believed that seeking blessings from the goddess will bring good luck and happiness to their marriage. The temple sees a significant number of newlywed couples visiting it throughout the year, especially during the peak wedding season. It is a beautiful tradition that reflects the deep spiritual and cultural significance of the temple in the lives of Nepalese people.
Bindhyabasini temple is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Pokhara, especially those interested in the rich cultural and religious heritage of Nepal. So, if you are in Pokhara, do not miss the opportunity to visit this magnificent temple.
