It is not understood what is holding Modi back from imposing President's rule in West Bengal. Dismissing opposition governments in States in Indira Gandhi style may be bad but not taking action in gravest of grave situations is also equally bad and treason with the powers the Constitution confers on the central government. Will someone please tell the prime minister what harm he is causing to the people of the country by his denial of using his constitutional powers even when certain regions are on the boil and cry for a befitting response from the highest executive ? There is no need for him to stand on the opposite pole to infamous Indira Gandhi and go down in history infamous for complete inertia or mental atrophy.
