The Belt and Road Initiative, formerly known as One Belt One Road or OBOR for short, is a global infrastructure development strategy adopted by the Chinese government in 2013 to invest in nearly 70 countries and international organizations. It is considered a centerpiece of Communist Party of China general secretary Xi Jinping's foreign policy. Xi Jinping originally announced the strategy during official visits to Indonesia and Kazakhstan in 2013. "Belt" refers to the overland routes for road and rail transportation, called "the Silk Road Economic Belt"; whereas "road" refers to the sea routes, or the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. It was incorporated into the Constitution of the People's Republic of China in 2017. The Chinese government calls the initiative "a bid to enhance regional connectivity and embrace a brighter future". Some observers, mostly American, interpret it as a plan for Chinese world domination through a China-centered global trading network. The project has a target completion date of 2049, which coincides with the 100th anniversary of the People's Republic of China.

If these factors are considered, the Chinese railway project is likely to be “too costly.” The railway project under BRI is expected to cost Nepal around $8 billion, 24 which is nearly one-third of the country's total GDP. A poor country like Nepal would find it too difficult to repay the debt with interest rate.

We don't have a choice we don't have sea to fare after all, the roads our best bet and only way if there is ever going to be development plan we are going to enforce on ourselves Nepal is no longer secular if not china, India will surely do all to absorb it look at the map nepal and Bhutan are its primary targets and with the climate change they will be motivated and dearly so to have occupations in the Himalayan countries Water will soon be new gold and oil to run populations and india has lots of it too dependent in Himalayan rivers China's belt and road is essential to contain india and form some sense of neutrality and self dependence

What are BRI projects for Nepal?? Nobody has disclosed. Are they economically viable? Will this generate sufficient income and profit to pay back the loans? Will this help economic growth and development of country? Will these projects increase exports of nepal?? All these factors need to be analysis for Nepal to accept BRI or any other loans.
