Maharshi Bhardwaj Park is a public park located in Prayagraj (Allahabad), Uttar Pradesh, India. The park is named after the Hindu sage Maharshi Bhardwaj, who is mentioned in various Hindu scriptures as one of the seven sages (Saptarishi).
The park was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav, in 2006. The park is spread over an area of approximately 20 acres and is located near the Sangam, the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers.
The park is designed as a recreational spot for locals and tourists and features various attractions, including a musical fountain, boating facilities, a children's play area, and a jogging track. The park also has a statue of Maharshi Bhardwaj and a replica of the historic Allahabad Fort.
Maharshi Bhardwaj was a renowned sage in Hindu mythology and is considered one of the Saptarishis or Seven Sages. He is believed to have lived during the Vedic period and is credited with composing several hymns in the Rigveda, one of the oldest Hindu scriptures.
Maharshi Bhardwaj is also associated with the ancient Indian epic, the Ramayana, in which he appears as a mentor and advisor to Lord Rama. He is known for his knowledge of astrology, Ayurveda, and other sciences.
The park named after him aims to promote his teachings and inspire people to lead a peaceful and harmonious life, in line with the values and principles of Maharshi Bhardwaj
