Manu is taken away by Moropant to meet Sakaram. Sakaram presents her with the items Bajirao sent her. During the play, Samar Singh, posing as one of the gift bearers, tells Manu that Lacho and Fraser have once again plotted to kill the monarch. A concerned Manu tells Tatya Guru of Motibai's scheme to make the drama come true and of Lacho's scheme to assassinate the monarch! Tatya Guru sets out to find Lacho. Taking a poison bottle, Motibai swears that history would record how a courtesan died in her lover's arms after being married, and that only she will be referred to as the Queen of Jhansi.
