Introduction to Raja Rammohan Roy
Raja Rammohan Roy was born on 22 May 1772 in a Brahmin family of Radhapur (modern name Radhanagar) located in the Hooghly district of West Bengal.
Raja Rammohun Rai's father's name was Ramkanto Rai and his mother's name was Tarini Devi, who was a follower of the Vaishnava sect and Ramkanto Rai was a man of staunch Hindu religious instincts.
Raja Rammohan Roy published the Brahmanical, Ved Mandir, Samvad Kaumudi, Mirat ul Newspaper, Bangdoot, etc. Papers in which Bangdoot was a letter which was published in Bengali, Hindi and Persian language.
On 20 August 1828, King Rammohan Roy established the Brahma Sabha, but later it was known as Brahma-Samaj.
