I just soak rice and udad dal and little chena dal little Methi for four hours and put them in the wet grinder and make course batter . Add salt and little butter milk and leave it for fermentation . Next day follow the same procedure and get excellent soft doklas. Two cups rice , one cup udad dal half cup chena dal or Mumk dal or both .
One more request, it would b nice if u had the ingredients listed in ur description box. Would b easy for my grandkids as they already know how to make idli. Thx & God bless.
